An exciting new contemporary romance series featuring successful men and the women they're determined to win.

Shari Peele is an excellent narrator and I will look for other books read by her.

Young ladies reading this, please know you deserve better than what the main female character got in this book. You’re worth more. You’re worth being valued, prioritized and wholeheartedly believed. Getting a ring isn’t a prize when the man giving it to you isn’t one.
Disappointing Toxic Masculinity

I’m not a huge fan of how the book handled the ending—particularly in regard to the characters and the way the author chose to frame the aftermath of the assault. I was really uncomfortable with the way the female character was treated after disclosing that she had been assaulted. Her love interest not only doubted her but outright called her a liar, and that’s a deeply troubling response to something so serious.
What bothers me most is that, rather than holding him accountable or giving space for her healing, the narrative shifts toward her needing to support him and somehow win him back. It places the emotional burden on her—as if it’s her responsibility to manage his discomfort or skepticism about her trauma. That’s not just frustrating, it’s harmful.
It sends the wrong message—that when a woman is assaulted, it’s up to her to explain, justify, and ultimately make things easier for the people around her, even those who don’t believe her. The author seems to brush over the significance of the assault and fails to offer a sensitive or empowering resolution for the female character. I really don’t appreciate the way that was handled. It undermines the very real experiences of survivors and puts an unfair emotional labor on their shoulders.
Not a fan of that direction at all…
Not a fan of the ending
