Riveting

This book made me cry. Read in one sitting. Loved that street named rivers etc. were familiar as I live in the triangle area.
Shari Peele is an excellent narrator and I will look for other books read by her.

Slooooooooww!!!!!

This story was long for no reason. If you listen to chapters 1, 18, and 19 you'll save wasted time.

Very very wordy!!

Overall it was a good storyline but the author is really wordy and way too detailed to the point where the book was somewhat boring. I don't really care for this narrator because you can hear her swallowing. But I'll give this book 3 stars.

Irritated

This story got on my nerves a little bit. Too much of the nonsense. Xavier turned out to be a little suckish.

Ok

I really like the narrator and she is partly the reason I selected this book. The other reason was the summary of the book. However I was disappointed because the book was not like the summary. The author made the women in this book look weak and like they had no self esteem and pathetic. Parts of the story line contradicted other parts of the story line.

Imani said her heart was broken by Xavier, But she gave him a tonguing down the first time she saw him in 10 years and then slept with him not long after that. Her friend Maya and her mother were weak women as well by the things they told her to do concerning X. They made her feel like it was her fault that the relationship wasn't working and in reality she was the one that was assaulted he was the one that was in the wrong by making her feel bad by not telling him. She saw the man that had assaulted her and he gave her the stank face while she kind of just cowered away. The wedding started at Sunset and when they left to see her surprise it was early Sunday morning, because a construction worker was at the site. What wedding reception lasts for nearly 13 hours?

I'm glad I didn't waste a credit on this book or purchase this book Because I would had wanted a refund. But, it did have great sexual storylines.

Pretty Good

The storyline was good although it felt a bit rushed, especially in the first few chapters. It did seem to get more on pace further into the story. I was surprised by what Imani's secret turned out to be. Her relationship with Xavier appeared to be weaker than first presented. I felt like the author made him a little more dramatic than necessary when he found out her secret and not dramatic enough when he found out the details behind her secret. The ending was sweet. Overall, this was a pretty good read, there were moments when I found myself actually yelling at the characters as if they could hear me, lol. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good, sweet love story.
