Publisher's summary

From the best-selling author of The Road to Key West comes a sequel guaranteed to take the listener even higher - another rollicking, hilarious Caribbean adventure that will have you laughing out loud.

Back on the Road to Key West reintroduces the somewhat reluctant adventurers Kansas Stamps and Will Bell, casting them into one bizarre situation after another while capturing the true flavor and feel of Key West and the Caribbean in the early 1980s.

An ancient map and a lost pirate treasure, a larcenous Bahamian scoundrel and his gang of cutthroats, a wild and crazy journey into South America in search of a magical antediluvian device, and perilous/hilarious encounters with outlandish villains and zany friends will keep you locked to your seat and giggling maniacally. (Not to mention headhunters, smugglers, and beautiful women with poisonous pet spiders.) You'll also welcome back Rufus, the wacky, mystical Jamaican Rastaman, and be captivated by another "complicated romance" as Kansas and Will struggle with finding and keeping the girls of their dreams. So pour yourself a margarita, and get comfortable. You're in for another rousing medley of madcap adventures in paradise, with Back on the Road to Key West.

Never know where it’s going to go

Never knew where the story was going to go from the beginning and ended up somewhere completely different but it was a hell of a ride

Gets too silly

Could be great but for the childish situations the author creates. Not a great read

An enjoyable listen

Two believable characters, in a real setting, the Keys, which is an unbelievable place in it's self. Doing normal Key things for two young guys, drinking, chasing girls, fishing, drinking, diving, chasing girls, repeat. Throw in a strange/interesting group of friends and then have the two of them get into more jams, all at the same time, then Indiana Jones, John McClane and The Little Rascals put together. Add a far fetch item and you have a fun read/listen.

over used story lines

totally predictable 😴 so many references to the too familiar I buy a book about Key West or the keys and the storylines all seem to blend into the Carl /Tim land let those guys work it

Repetitive

Interesting fantasy story. Pretty good performance but the story repeats itself over and over. If you didn’t hate the word “Antagonist” you will after hearing it about 5000 times in this book. Also “distractions” became boring after a while. Descriptions of life in the Keys were colorful and interesting.
