Love it!

The narration is perfection! I could listen to these two all day. June and Jared have known each other forever but never thought of each other as more than friends. A little forced proximity opens a door neither expected. Add in a 4 year old and these two experience a life they both have only dreamed of. I absolutely love this book and Jared and Junes HEA. The Hawthorn series has fast become my favorite by this author.

Baby For The Off Limits Single Daddy

The story is well-paced, well-written, sweet, and only a bit of drama. Piper was adorable, if a bit over-written for a 3-year old; and the development of the relationship between Jared and June was believable. I love how supportive and compassionate Keifer was but I don't know why June was so surprised to find herself surrounded by people who clearly loved her when they'd been there her whole life... I guess everyone has their moments, right? The narration was good, but it wasn't a performance; more of just a reading of the story, which was fine, but there were times when it felt like the narrator tried to give the characters different voices, but it wasn't consistent, so when there was no specific identifiers it was a bit confusing sometimes about who was speaking in a moment. Other than that, it was excellent, though I do feel like I may have enjoyed all the family interactions more easily if I'd read the other books in the series first. It IS a standalone, but there is a lot of history on the page for other family members, so it would be nice to see how they got there.

Another Hawthorn Bites the Dust

Another fun story for the Hawthorns! I was a little surprised this wasn't going to be June and Keifer, but I'm glad Jerrad made the cut because we get to have a fun story with young Piper in it!
June and Jerrad were fun together! After some misunderstanding about who is staying where, a snow storm keeps the two (plus Piper!) together. I really liked their chemistry, and how there wasn't awkwardness with June and Piper. Plus, Piper was able to be included enough (not just talked about in an abstract sense), and wasn't a 40 year old in disguise. She got to be a kid having a fun time and wanting a maternal figure in her life. Jerrad was a bit more self contained. He did everything for Piper, so he has to learn to open his (and Piper's) world to having June in it in more than a brother's best friend capacity.

Overall, it's a fun read/listen. There are visits from characters in the previous book, and some hints at who will be in future books in the series.
Sometimes the antics of the June and Jerrad seemed a bit out of character for people in their mid/late twenties, but alls well that ends well, so I just rolled with it.

This story has some swearing and steamy scenes. It's told in dual POV, with June and Jerrad getting their innermost off limits thoughts being shared with the reader/listener.

I really liked the narrators! They each do a great job voices the characters and bringing them to life, making them seem real and relatable. I listened at 1.15x speed.

A brothers best friend, single dad/ nanny romance

This is a single dad/ nanny, brother’s best friend Romance. They get stranded all together at the family cabin/mansion -and sparks begin to ignite its great spice a lot of fun banter.
I loved the characters and the storyline! The narrators did a great job of bringing June and Jarrod to life!

Sweet story!

Juniper Reed has been best friends with Keifer Hawthorn since they were in kindergarten. She knows that she can turn to him for anything and she needs him now. She's just been fired from her nanny job and she needs some place to live, so Keif suggests that she stay at his family's cabin, Hawthorne Haven, for a few weeks or until she finds a new place to live. What Kieffer couldn't know is that his older brother, Jarred, often uses it as a getaway for himself and his precocious 4-year-old daughter, Piper. Piper's mother decided she no longer wanted to be a wife and mother, and Piper can't get over the sting of being abandoned by her mother. With both June and Jarred spending a few weeks in close proximity, this could be the worst or best vacation ever. When a massive storm blows through, passions flare, but they have to be hidden because Piper can't know that they've been together. The last thing that they can afford is to hurt her best friend Kieffer. This is where Jarred began to fall apart out of guilt or self-loathing because he decided that he had to push her away, and push her away is exactly what he did with cruelty and by lashing out. It was so over-the-top and I didn't think he could ever redeem himself. Piper saved the day with her unconditional love of June, and Jarred's siblings let him have it in no uncertain terms. They had a happy ending, albeit a little rushed, but I truly enjoyed the story.The narration was beautifully done by Melissa Connell and Scott R. Smith. Their dynamic voices and inflection, along with the perfect pace, brought each character to life with unique personalities.  

Fantastic!

This story was great. Was well written, it just draws you in. Their relationship from beginning to end of book was sweet, spicy, and heartfelt. I look forward to the next book by this author.
It was also read well. The readers did a wonderful job.

Baby for the Single Dad!

I really enjoyed this story! It is a single dad, brother's best friend, forced proximity and surprise pregnancy with some fun and entertaining aspects. June and Jarred are combustible together with a solid connection. June has lost her job and her best friend lets her stay at their cabin. Unexpectedly, Jarred and his daughter show up at the cabin. They are snowed in together. The share some intimate moments together. Jared is a little gun shy after what his ex put him through and pushes her away. This is such a fun read with some emotional aspects. I enjoyed how the story develops and the relationship grows. I love the Hawthorne men. What a crew of men?

Wonderful story

This is a wonderful story with great main characters, lots of interesting twists and turns and sizzling hot love scenes. Great performance. I couldn’t stop listening to it up to the end.

June and Jarred

June and Keifer have been best friends since they were in kindergarten together. She's an only child who through their friendship was always welcomed by him and his two older brothers, Jarred, the eldest and Oliver and was always made to feel like part of the family. As June's parents have now retired and departed for warmer climes in Florida she needs her close ties to the Hawthornes more than ever.

June was working as a live-in nanny until she was unexpectedly fired because the parents of her charges were having marital issues. This meant that she found herself without a job or a home, hurt, alone and in need of help. Because, unfortunately, her parents' home in Chicago won't be available for another month as it's been rented so June asks Keifer for help and emotional support. He tells her that his family’s cabin, Hawthorne Haven in upper Michigan is empty and she can stay there for a while until she can move into her parents' home.

Keifer had no idea that his brother Jarred and Piper, his four-year-old daughter, were planning on staying there to lick their own wounds. Meredith Jarred's wife, Piper's mother has decided that she wants nothing to do with either of them. All she wants is the alimony granted during their divorce where Piper was cruelly used as a pawn by Meredith. Now Jarred just wants to share some quality father/daughter time with Piper and show her how loved she is.

What happens when all three arrive at the cabin has all the makings of a perfect recipe for romance. You have a father worried about his daughter, a daughter hurt by her mother's rejection and then you have June who is so giving and loving and deserves to be loved and have a family of her own. It's a mix made in heaven set in a beautiful location in the woods of upper Michigan.

The narration by Melissa Connell and Scott R. Smith was very well done and added to my enjoyment of this moving story.

Thus book was delicious and more!!! I was hooked from the 1st few pages!!! I needed more before it even got deep jnto the story.
