Publisher's Summary

Nicole Taylor thought she was merely hosting a pre-wedding dinner for her best friend. What she ended up with was a face to face encounter with the man she shared her one and only wild night with three years earlier - and her world turned upside down. Now she has to introduce him to the daughter he doesn't know he has and find out if she can trust in the hope of a family for her little girl. Josh Masterson has no idea why he lied that night three years ago. Nicole was everything he ever wanted in a woman and he has been regretting his decision ever since. Now he has the perfect opportunity to make up for it. He had no idea that he has fathered a little girl with Nicole, but now that he does, he isn't going to just walk away. He made a mistake all those years ago and now he is determined to show Nicole there really is such a thing as love at first sight and happily ever after. A sweet and tender contemporary romance perfect for fans of Susan Mallery, Bella Andre, and Marie Force.

When an accent is distracting

Ok, the story. It’s ok. To be honest I don’t think I liked the female MC like able. She kept waiting for him to apologize for not giving her his real name (which he did, I mean technically it was just his middle name), but I felt like she took no responsibility at all for her part in their situation. I thought the 2 yr old little girl was much more eloquent than A LOT if not most kids her age. I think if the author needed her to be that way, she should have pushed the timeline. Also, yes, that was his dad, but let’s be real, Nikki didn’t know him at all, yet sure, it’s ok, come and see this little girl take a bath, no worries. That’s just icky.

Now, the narration. I think the most distracting part was the narrator’s accent. The way she pronounced certain words was just off, seriously off. For example, Joshhhhhh. That’s exactly what it sounded like. I actually liked the way she performed all the other characters except for the main female one, sad, since the book is in her POV. Very little personality came through. It’s just ok.
