  • 517. John James Ryan (Keep Flying)
    Apr 3 2026

Join John and and I as we catch up with one another for this chat in the Keep Flying van while the band was in town on tour with Wheetus.

John opens up about how it was breaking his back, the uncertainty of what his life would be after the surgery. How he was determined to get back on stage and play with his band, in whatever capacity that could be.

We discuss learning to re appreciate everyday things after losing them for a little while. The power of asking for help, including advice you'd give your 20 year old self.

John and I share tales of getting older and how comedically opposite our bladder issues are and more in this chat with one of the best people in the world.

  • 516. Josh Schroeder (Producer /Random Awesome Studios)
    Dec 28 2025

Join Josh and I as we sit piano side in one of the spare rooms in his home studio for this chat.

Josh talks about some of the viral moments that have happened to bands he’s worked with, how aware he or the band are of what those moments could be when working on these songs.

Josh shares how he tries to not be known for a “sound” as he’s become an in demand producer for heavier music, but to foster and environment and a process that’s unique to each band and the members within, and that that’s what people can hear in the records he’s worked on. He also talks about not taking the social side of the business too seriously, as evident by his nail the mix promo video, and how he’s traversed that.

Josh also shares how a doomed trip to Japan helped foster his and his wife’s blossoming obsession with pinball machines. What he’s learned from playing and collecting machines over the last few years. We also get to learn a bit more about Josh’s marriage, how he and his wife met, and the role she even plays on the back end of the business. How they navigate balancing a work and personal life when the two are literally housed in the same building.

All this and more with the prouder extroidinaire. Also HUGE thanks to Alfonso Civille for recording the audio/video for this episode. Go check out his band, Heartsick, wherever you listen to music. Josh also produces that as well.

    Dec 28 2025

Join Myke and I as we catch up from a his last appearance

on the show, now that he's armed with a new Volumes record.

Myke also talks about how him and some of the other guys in Volumes having other creative outlets allowed them to come back to the band more focused and wanting to push the boundaries of what Volumes is and what it can be, and finding that balance.

We talk about finding balance in life and including your partner along in the journey. Gas station hot dogs, hot bagging, thanksgiving plates and more in this chat with Myke.
