Publisher's summary

Eric:

I f--ked up. Not in a small way, either.

When I met my son's best friend, the attraction was instantaneous. Jesse Morgan is charming, witty, and hot as sin. He might be young, but he's wise beyond his years. And damn, what he can do to me with something as simple as his touch or one glance from those chestnut colored eyes.

Hard as I tried, I couldn't keep my greedy hands off him, and once I had a taste, I needed more.

He awakens a fire within me unlike anything I've experienced with another guy. He stirs a hot lust that makes it difficult for me to spend time with him without tearing his clothes off and giving him the pleasure he deserves.

It's more than that, though.

He makes me believe in something I'd given up on: love.

I love him. I want him to claim me, body and soul.

And messed up as it might sound, the man who destroyed what remained of my estranged relationship with my son might be the very man who can help save it.

Yes, I made one of the biggest mistakes in my life by starting down this path, but as far as mistakes go, Jesse Morgan is a pretty damn amazing one.

Meh

This book was not as good as the first. There was too much time spent dealing with the issues of the son/best friend. That went on the entire book. And they never resolved Eric's 'issue.' The whole book took us through all of that pain just for him to still have his 'issue.' It was boring.

Need a Third Installment

This was a good story, and I am hoping to hear the conclusion to the story sometime soon. Relatable characters and the story is well thought out. Only down side is that you will hate the word condominium at the conclusion of both books.

I Really Wanted to Like this Book

The story dragged on. There was no build up. It felt like listening to someone's therapy session for 8 hours. I DO NOT recommend this book. There are so many places the author could have taken this. The ending was awful.

Fantastic Sequel with Great Narration

Devon McCormack has such a talent for writing realistic and hopeful, steamy romances! The BFF sequel continues along Eric and Jesse’s journey to dating and dealing with Ty, who happens to be Eric’s son and Jesse’s best friend. I can imagine this story actually taking place in real life and felt all the feels! :) The story also focus on some trauma and the author did a thorough job on explaining the process and content of therapies and various treatments out there for trauma. Bravo for the detail! And Michael Pauley’s narration is SPOT on!

Okay...

First of all... Ty sure as hell was NOT born in Georgia, drinking his unsweetened tea 🤢. No self-righteous southerner does that! Ew. Second, this book filled in some things but at the same time, kind of felt like a filler. idk. it was good though and very sweet.

Heavier going but still compelling!

Ty is Jessie’s best friend and Eric’s son. When Jessie and Eric informed Ty of their secret relationship, Ty didn’t take it well - have they ruined their relationships with him? Eric continues to be frustrated and haunted by his traumatic past as Jessie supports him through counselling. This second book in the BFF trilogy is definitely not a standalone, following hot on the heels of the end of the first book. While the story is compelling and the dialogue is sweet in places, the trauma and estrangement themes make it heavier than the first book - there’s no sense of illicit thrill here. It’s an important book in the story arc, lots of things move or change, but the major issues obviously won’t be resolved until the final book, so I suspect this is the least satisfying of the three. That said, I’m still loving this series and can’t wait for Jessie and Eric to get their HEA. Audio narrator Michael Dean weaves his usual magic!
