Quick and Fun Romance

Simply Irresistible by Tara September is a sweet, feel-good romance with plenty of charm. The chemistry between the characters is adorable, their growing connection feels genuine, and the story delivers those little heart-flutter moments that make romance reads so enjoyable. A cute, lighthearted read for anyone who loves a happily-ever-after.

Sweet & Easy to Listen To!

Simply Irresistible is Colin and Beth’s colleagues to lovers story. She is sassy, outgoing, adorable—and the neighbor he can’t resist. Colin is vety reserved—and rightfully so given all that we learn about his past. His slow burn sweet fall for Beth is just gorgeously written. Beth’s own trauma is her inspiration, and watching her turn her greatest vulnerability into a program that helps others is brilliant and beautiful. I appreciated the outside drama that mixed things up, and the ending is super sweet! The narrators are easy to listen to and deliver gentle yet engaging performances that matched the personalities of the mains perfectly. This was an entertaining and easy listen.

Lessons in Love Series

Beth returns to Thatcher College her alma mater as the Women's Volleyball Coach and Statistics Professor. Her duplex neighbor Colin is a Literature Processor closing in on tenure. An interesting meet cute at the local sports bar has elements of mistaken identity launching them on the wrong foot. It isn't the only meet cute scenarios that plays out in the book.

Beth's passion in helping student athletes both as players and as students garners adverse attention by the higher ups despite its popularity with both the athletes and the professors volunteering their time. Her personal reasons bouy her on to keep the program going.

Despite his aversion to sports, Colin can't help but being attracted to his irritating neighbor and her program to help athletic students with their academics.

This is a mix of neighbors, colleagues, opposites attract atypical college romance since it isn't a young adult student romance.


Dual narrators Elisabeth Knight and Finnley Cole give an engaging, professionally polished performance of Simply Irresistible. I listened straight through the four and a half hours with very brief pauses as necessary. Easily a one day listen.

A Cute Romance

I was entertained by this cute romance. I admired the college setting as it made the story more realistic. I liked the differences in personalities between Beth Henley and Colin McClure as the differences led to some amusing moments and humorous dialogue. I appreciated the information regarding the characters' pasts as that added layers to the story. I thought the dual narration enhanced the story's entertainment; however, I enjoyed Finnley Cole's performance more, because at times I thought Elisabeth Knight's voice wasn't as easy to understand. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.
