My friends say I'm lucky, but his mere presence annoys me, along with his late-night music and the constant gaggle of giggly girls who visit. I'm the only one who can see right through that patented Cal Charm. He's just another player and I'm not game.

So, why the heck did I let him give me an out-of-this-world kiss under the stars the other night? It had to be the magic of the meteor shower. I can't actually like him, right? I simply need to prove Cals stellar kiss was a fluke, and I know how to do it and in just three steps. Should be easy, right? Yeah, famous last words.

Engaging Romance

I was entertained by this story. Based on one of my favorite tropes that of enemies to lovers, I enjoyed the chemistry between April and Cal. I liked that April was strong and sassy, and that Cal wasn't quite the way April pictured him. I appreciated the humor and the nod to an ancient myth. I thought Ashley Rose Kaplan's narration was amazing as she really captured April's personality with her voice. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

A Entertaining, Romantic Read

Thank you to Tara September for allowing me to listen to a copy of this book. I loved my read of this. It was so sweet, romantic, and THE TENSION between the FMC AND MMC. I loved the story, and it felt like something that would happen irl. It was just so wholesome, and I loved every second of it. Did the fmc sometimes annoy me a tad? Yes, but she made up for it. I cannot wait to read more from Tara September in the future.

About the story- I thought the story was cute, and I liked that the Pyramus and Thisbe story wasn’t beaten to death. This was lighthearted and pleasant to read.
About the narrator- I was not impressed by the narrator. Her voice was the same for the main character’s speaking voice and inner thoughts, so it was hard to tell what she was saying out loud and what she was only thinking. I’d classify her voice as okay and her performance poor.

Sweet and Sassy!

Cal and April are accidentally neighbours - let the feuding begin! But one meteor shower and one non-meh kiss later, and things are starting to change. I really enjoyed April and Cal’s back and forth, from their quippy banter to their heart-felt conversations. Ashley Rose Kaplan really brought these two to life, and I truly enjoyed this light and funny story.

This was such a fun audio!! I totally binged it in one sitting and had such a good time with it. The narrator did a really good job and I felt like it was pretty easy to picture characters and scenes throughout. Cal I adored but he’s totally like all the book boyfriends I fall for! Cal and April have an eatable chemistry and after that kiss I knew we were in for a ride. Overall I totally recommend checking out this audiobook!
