I love this series!

This was a great listen! Equally because of the words written and the one who performed them.
I knew going in everything would turn out OK, but I still cried. It was great. Sylvana and John made me cry! I don't cry very often when listening to a book, but it's always great when I do 😭😄

Anxious for the next book!

Let me just say it plainly: John Solo ATE this narration.

He is one of those narrators who can carry an entire book on his back and make it sound like a multicast duet even though it’s literally just him in the booth.
His range? Wild.
His timing? Surgical.
His emotional beats? Clean and intentional.

You feel the anxiousness in the reaper ...that jittery, earnest, “please let me get this right” energy.
You feel the confidence and stride in the other main character , that grounded presence that balances the chaos. His female voices? Spot‑on.
Every character sounds distinct, lived‑in, and consistent.

There were moments I genuinely forgot it was one man doing all the work. If John Solo is narrating, I’m automatically locked in. No hesitation.

💀✨ Plot & Story
This is Book 4 in a series I’ve been following from the beginning, and every time Silvana Falcon surprises me in the best way.

We’re following a reaper who has been training for years and finally gets his first solo mission… and it goes left immediately. He can’t collect the soul. He doesn’t know why. And from that moment on, he spirals into full “I’m failing at my job” mode.

His whole vibe is adorable ... anxious, uncertain, rule‑following, trying so hard to be good at something that keeps slipping out of his hands. Watching him navigate that insecurity while still pushing forward made him incredibly endearing.

The relationship between the two main characters blooms so naturally.
There’s warmth, tension, and a softness that sneaks up on you.

And this book?
It has more depth than the earlier installments. The plot behind why he couldn’t collect the soul is layered, surprising, and honestly one of my favorite reveals in the series so far.

The ending landed beautifully.
It felt right. And now I’m already anxious for the next book because this world just keeps getting richer.

⭐ Final Thoughts
This audiobook is absolutely worth the listen. John Solo elevates every moment, every emotion, every character. The story has heart, humor, and a surprising amount of depth. Book 4 proves this series still has so much to give and I’ll be right here waiting for the next one.

Can a reaper fail?

This is book three inches series but stands alone just fine. There is 2 characters in this that recurr but its easily understood who they are.
I found this one a little different as it didnt have as many supporting characters. It focuses mainly on the 2 main characters .
Dustin is a professional daredevil so most of the actions center around him and of course Greg the Reaper.

I simply adored Greg and the narration shows his naivety and anxiousness.
I love John Solo's portrayal of each character and I appreciate how he handles Dustin's mom and she doesn't just sound silly.
I recommend this series especially in Audio and cant wait for book 4. Im saving a credit.
