I somehow have to navigate the rules of the fae, too many arrogant people, a suite-mate who's so pretty she has to be using a glamour, and now that bird is back. Yet in a school filled with secrets and magic, how was I to know being normal might make me the most interesting thing here?

Interesting enough that this is starting to feel like a fairytale.

I'm not the princess, though. I'm going to be the knight in shining armor.

Wonderful story

I love the story. It’s creative, exciting and sweet.

I mostly like the narrator but they have a few really strange way of saying specific words that tended to jar me out of the story. “Shores” for “chores” and “eye-ron” for iron. It seems like a small thing but it strongly kicked me out of a story that was pulling me in. (Also, iron is a very important word in this story). Generally the main character sounds like she should as an Iowa native but these little differences were extremely discordant

Great story, terrible voice actor

I've read the book for this title and am very disappointed in the voice actor. She reads so many words incorrectly and makes it seem like it's either an AI voice or English is not her first language. I am hoping that this is not the same person who will read the rest of the series.

The story is well written and as is typical for this author, the world building is amazing. The characters are layered and not immediately put in categories. I am not overly interested in stories about fae courts (not a fan of ACOTAR and the like) but this series is written about people who happen to be fae...which is so much better than the series being about fae as the primary aspect.

Worth the time to listen if you can ignore how bad the voice actor is.

Story great, many mispronounciations

as always A.H. stories are great. The character development is great, the details always work. However if mispronounced words bother you, you're going to have a hard time. The narrator says Plade instead of Plaid (plad), iron has a hard R, and says acearage like Ahcurage not AY" + "kuh" + "rij". Those are just 3 examples. It gives 'never said the word out loud'. Its not a regional dialect thing, its mispronounced. Keeps taking me out of the story.
