Jem and Tean: Guys Gone Wild is a collection of short stories. It includes the following:
- “First Dates”: A prequel to The Lamb and the Lion books, this short story shows Jem and Tean as they are set up on blind dates—with disastrous results.
- “Cheap Seats”: Jem and Tean go to the movies. Jem insists it’s an epic bromance date. Tean insists they’re just casual acquaintances. When their movie is sold out, Jem tries to score tickets another way, while Tean insists that he does so without lying or breaking the law.
- “Supertrope: The Birthday Episode”: In an homage to the television supertrope of a birthday episode, this short story features Tean trying to plan the perfect birthday party for Jem after learning that Jem has never had one.
- “Jem + Tean: Guys Gone Wild”: A collection of six vignettes from Jem and Tean’s weekend at a cabin in the Wasatch Mountains.
Please note that the first three stories have distributed previously to mailing list subscribers.
“Jem + Tean: Guys Gone Wild” is exclusively available in this collection.

"First Dates" is a short featuring Jem and Tean before they met. In it we get to see how hopeless their love lives seem to be. Though the feelings they eventually have for each other are romantic, their relationship takes a back seat to the mysteries they solve together. At least at first. It was interesting to see them before that all happens anyway.
The stories in this book are a little more lighthearted than the books in the series. "Cheap Seats" had Jem lying and scheming to get tickets to a movie that Tean wants to see, even as Tean asks him not to do anything illegal in order to get them. The scene is a little convoluted and while it doesn't seem like the movie date was too shady at first, all it takes is a pompous homophobe for Jem to really shine as he cons the theater manager. In the end, it also seems like Tean doesn't really care that much and accepts Jem for who he is.
The birthday story was sweet, but at first it was deceptive. It's Jem's birthday and he admits to Tean that he never had a celebration in the past. Tean decides to treat Jem to shopping and dinner, on his terms. Like Jem, I was starting to feel like maybe no celebration might have been better than a cake made from beets. However, Tean had some tricks up his sleeve and seeing Jem happy with his real birthday celebration was really sweet. The two aren't really together in this book yet, but you can see the feelings developing.
The vignettes felt really quick but romantic. Jem and Tean finally explore their feelings and begin a relationship. I am very excited to see that there is another series featuring these characters. Though I might do a relisten to the original stories to refresh my memory, I really can't wait to see how this couple are doing after the first series. J.F. Harding is solid in narrating this collection of short stories and I recommend this short as well as the whole series.
Good collection, can't wait for the new series.

Each of these lovely little vignettes provide behind-the-scenes glimpses into Jem and Tean's life with a Guys Gone Wild feel. This is intimate and authentic, like you’re being let in on private moments that deepen the characters and their world.
The narration brings everything vividly to life — every pause, every bit of tension, every flash of humor lands perfectly. It’s the kind of audiobook that makes you look for excuses to keep listening just one more chapter. J.F Harding is truly an asset to these stories.
These stories are set in between the Lamb and the Lion series so are not really stand alone stories but very enjoyable after the series. Start there and then listen to Guys Gone Wild for more.......
Perfect little vignettes.....
