Abandoned on the streets of Guadalajara as a toddler. Adopted into a new life in the United States. Searching for identity, healing, and a place to belong.

In Lost & Found: The Journey of Socorro, Linda Ann Sanchez shares her remarkable memoir of survival, resilience, and self-discovery. From the uncertainty of her earliest years to the struggles of growing up in a world where she never quite felt at home, Linda’s story is one of perseverance and hope.

Through the trials of adoption, the challenges of family relationships, and the search for faith and purpose, Linda discovers that healing isn’t just about finding where you come from—it’s about embracing where you are meant to be.

I liked this journey and how was founded and how she progressed. When I was hearing the narrator and felt inside the scene. LOL, including the name was stranger for her. I never thought all those sentiments of why that happened to her and the absent of answer she did peace.

This story goes to show just how resilient we can be as humans. This person went through a lot at an early age and it really is so powerful for her to share her story. It goes to show just how strong we are as humans.

I was looking for something meaningful to listen to during my travels and this memoir turned out to be the perfect choice. The focus stays right on the internal battle of finding one's identity amidst a chaotic upbringing, which kept me engaged through every hour. It is a very grounded story that offers a look at a real life filled with both shadows and light. Seeing the transformation from a lost child to a resilient adult is incredibly satisfying when you hear it described in such detail. Anyone looking for a story about the human spirit will enjoy this.

Listening to this felt intimate in a way that sneaks up on you. The story unfolds gently, but the weight of it stays with you — especially the moments around identity and not quite knowing where you belong. It’s honest without trying to dramatize the pain, which somehow makes it hit harder. What stood out most was the sense of reflection. You can hear the years of searching, questioning, and slowly making peace with the past. It doesn’t rush healing or pretend it’s simple. It just lets the journey be what it was, messy, tender, and deeply human. This would resonate with anyone who’s ever felt between worlds, carried unanswered questions, or wondered how much of “home” is something you choose rather than find.

Quietly powerful

Heartfelt and easy to connect with. The story moves from early loss to a steady, hard-earned sense of self, without feeling preachy or performative. The adoption angle and identity search feel real, especially in the messy family moments. It’s ultimately hopeful—more about healing forward than perfect answers.
