Before us lies a harsh and dismal world in which the entire show is run by the omnipresent System. However, Elb, a.k.a. number eleven, does not intend to continue leading this miserable existence, and wants to understand why things are the way they are. Having restored order in his native Outskirts, he and his team march ever onwards, destroying their foes and amassing points from the System.

This tenth book concludes the cycle, shedding light on the secret of Elb's fate, as well as many mysteries of the world he finds himself in. In order for this to happen, the hero must reach the Tower and come face to face with the First Higher. But is Elb ready to discover what is capable of upending all his perceptions of this world? And what consequences will there be? Only after listening to the final book of the series will you learn the answers to these questions.

I was angry but…

As for the series as a whole I did enjoy it, this last installment was interesting and added a few new perspectives that I am glad were revealed. Previously I assumed this was the end of elb and his journey and that assumption would have impacted my review greatly because of the unanswered questions and cliffhanger. However after I learned that the series continues and has yet to be translated I changed my opinion. That aside the book was decent but felt like a lot of parts and old factions/ characters were thrown around in ways that didn’t make sense for their roles in the books or did them a disservice and then parts were elongated that felt like could have been shortened.
