amazing story and narration

This is a really special series. The story is so good and there are a lot of interesting perspectives.

Although the stories and details are different - it reminds me a lot of the kind of world Joe Abercrombie built in the First Law Series

Another comment said the pace was slow and boring. But I disagree. Especially if you are fully invested in these characters after the first book. The “slow moments” help set the stage and show character growth

One of the most unique book and series that I’ve read. Can’t wait for more!

Strong Flintlock Fantasy with great characters

Mr. Wall is back to deliver a strong, character focused story in his magnificently built Flintlock Fantasy world. New points of view are explored in this iteration that introduce elements of mystery and political intrigue that I really enjoy. This is a strong recommendation for any avid fantasy reader, especially if you're a fan of The Lord of The Rings, The First Law, Mistborn (second era) and The Powder Mage Trilogy. Steven Pacey also delivers an amazing performance, as always!

Slow at first but gets better

The first half of the book drags a bit (like 20-30 mins of teaching someone to fire a rifle), but Steven Pacey's excellent narration keeps you going until the pace and excitement ratchet up in the second half.

Great if you like the similar. Abercrombie Sanderson weeks. definitely a great book looking forward to the next one
