When I’m tossed into the trunk of a car, I realize that what little luck I have has finally run out—especially when I find that Tony, the man who’d abducted me, is planning on using me to get back at my father. Soon, though, I learn that Shepherd has a heart and a brain. And sometimes, those two things can be a bigger weapon than anything in a time like this. I just have to learn how to wield them.

After Shepherd gets me away from Tony’s men, I discover that he’s a survivor, a fighter, and the only person who seems willing to help me when it feels like the whole world is against me. At first, I’m not sure if I can trust the man, but the more we get to know each other, the more I realize that he’s funny and kind of sweet. He’s determined to protect me, but he doesn’t know all of my secrets. He doesn’t know that Tony isn’t the only one looking for me. But together, as we face betrayal and taking down the worst monster of all, we’re determined that we will be the lucky ones after all.

Just My Luck is a 101k word book featuring two broken souls who find peace in each other. While it does have a mixture of action, humor, and Alice’s trademark snarky banter, there are moments that might be considered darker to some listeners.

Not what I expected, It was not my cup of tea. I have to admit I prefer her books with more humor

Bear is the bestest and cutest pupper!

I was so excited when I found out that Just my Luck was finally going to be available in audio and Declan Winters did not disappoint, he did such a great job! I feel like his voice was a perfect match to how I imagined Shepherds voice to sound like!

Darker...but so good.

Although this story is much darker than most of Alice Winters' work, I couldn't put it down! I was captivated by Killian and Shepherd. I made several guesses as to which way the story would go, and wouldn't you know it, these characters had minds of their own and the story just got more and more interesting. While I still prefer Ms. Winters' funnier stories, this one was really good. Declan Winters did a good job bringing the characters to life.

Bit darker then her normal

Great story- departure from her normal but still a really good story. Her mc s are usually a bit of a sad beginning but this was a bit darker and not quite so lighthearted bantering etc

The plot of the story and secret memories unfolding the truth

I really love everything and it was really good to follow the story and how the romance builds up, I love everything about this storybook.
