A great series all in one serving

The story is really well developed It progresses at a good pace and you really get into the story. This series is one to listen to. What’s nice is the whole seried in one credit and is a really good deal.

writer needs to take better notes

not a bad story, but constantly repeats things between the books and the MC is all, 'holy cow I've never heard this before'. also a lot of things has changed between books. author either needs better notes or needs to review previous books while writing new ones. it really brings you out of the story

Constantly forgetting things

So many details get forgotten about and retreaded. Completely throws off the immersion. Had to quit mid way through book two.

amazing

This book series us totally Worth reading/ listening to. I noticed a lot of times there writer could have added funny situations or something but I figured the author wanted the story to be more serious. Still the whole thing was amazing.

A story with the memory of a goldfish. Book 4 ruins everything.

In books 1, 2, and 3 everything is repeated over and over again and is treated as if it’s something never heard before. In book 4 everything learned in the other 3 books is wrong and has changed. They even for get the Main characters name at one point and call him Jack multiple times. The king of the shifters and his eldest son are good and upstanding people in book 3. In book 4 they hate each other and the eldest son is just like the younger son. Him becoming a king is also changed as if it never existed. It’s almost like book 4 was written by someone else who didn’t even know about the other 3 books. He forgets that he can portal and has to relearn it multiple times as if he has never done it before. Emp demons can't use telepathy beyond 50 ft. Only Bart can talk with other emps long distances. Not in book 4 that all changes.

enjoyable listen

really liked the story overall it's got some different aspects to the world writing you don't see often and I enjoyed the characters. the writing could be rough, repetitive conversations and consistent contradiction of previous books in the series makes it harder stay with it but overall good voice acting and if it's early works by the writer I can't wait to read the future storys.

Not that good

The MC seems very incompetent. Not only is he stupid, he is whiny and throws tantrums. It is annoying

story and world was fun, but actually story structure has issues. + repetetiveness

I enjoy the characters, most of them feel pretty unique. however, there are numerous times where the author retreads the exact same conversation, but changes something. It feels like it needs better editing passes. additionally, very frequently the narrator will note something, only for a character to speak up to state the exact same thing. its a common problem, but one that is frustrating to deal with so frequently. these issues pull me out of the story, which is otherwise very entertaining. I would absolutely purchase a re-recorded version with these issues fixed. also, for the omnibus, including a book preview at the end of each book is particularly intrusive. maybe just put one preview at the very end?

Great story and world buidling...MC? Needs work. Updated.

I will start by saying that I, overall cannot stand overly moralistic MC's or those that can't move beyond a threat to their "sense of morality" in a timely manner. I really thought that I would be experiencing this trope again. I am not sure how many people are in the same boat as me with this, but this MC thankfully did not spend to much time complaining or having a full blown existential crisis when it came to taking the lives of those who meant him or people he cared about harm. My main complaint with this MC is that he is an idiot. He will be told information and completely forget the information only to say "whoa, you are telling me X?!? That's crazy why didnt anyone tell me that?!" Over and over this happens. Ok, now that I have complained I want to say that aside from the MC's apparent short term memory issues I really did enjoy these books. It is a good series and I'm sure many people won't get as bent out of shape about that as I did.
Update.
Book 3 has so many continuity errors that it feels like the majority of the book is repeating information from books 1 and 2 that the MC apparently did not know anymore. This series needs much better editing.

So far, not so good.

I’ll start by saying I’m glad I bought the omnibus and not each individual book. I’m 4hrs in and hardly anything has happened. I feel like it could have been summed up in one, maybe two chapters.

It’s by far the slowest burning book I’ve ever read, ever.

I will edit and update as I go, but so far I wouldn’t recommend. Hopefully the pace will pick up soon. I’m tired of hearing about how fascinated the imp is by the internet.
