I wish Riley would use her brain!

I love this series but there are times when Riley acts like a damsel in distress and it annoys me to no end! We all know she is capable of saving herself but for whatever reason she just gives up amd let's things happen to her! I'm going to buy the nexy book bc again I love the series but I'm hoping Riley doesn't become a whiney damsel again!

Formula, formula, formula

I’m listening to this series because my financial investment was VERY minimal. In addition, they don’t require all of my attention and I’m waiting on some new releases from my favorite authors. I would not spend a credit on any of them. The protagonist, Riley, is getting a bit annoying, but I enjoy Mitch and many side characters.

On the “formula” — something of a spoiler alert. The villain in this one was a different category of person than the first 2 books, so yay. But in all three books so far, Riley has impulse control issues, goes lone wolf, stupidly confronts a killer, almost dies, and is saved by Mitch. It’s getting to be a bit much, and makes Riley seem like she can learn nothing from experience. Don’t even get me started on the apparent uselessness of giving her a gun - despite her training.

On the upside, Megan Tusing is excellent as a narrator, as always, and Corey M. Snow is getting better with each subsequent volume.
