All the while, they are exploring the next step in their relationship.

As the murderer becomes bolder, the photograph of his next victim appears in the Times of London, sparking the prominent families of the city to fear the worst.

Too Predictable

This was the 6th book in the series having previously read 1-5. I enjoy having an intelligent adventurer as the main character,Mikaela. However, her inner dialogue is repetitive both across books and within each book and it is getting old. Her conversations, again across and within each book, regardless of the plot and characters are close to identical. Poor old Brodie, and yes I know he is not the protagonist, has no inner dialogue and his conversations are made up of the same descriptions of Makaela’s behavior traits (that he loves but drive him crazy) in every single book - yawn. We learn nothing new about his growing feelings for Makaela except that he wants her all the time & forever. They are not a passionate couple regardless of her curling toes! The plots are basically the same regardless of the book with changes in the characters and conflicts. Will I read book 7? Probably- yes I know I’m hopeless :-)

Love the characters

The series is very intriguing and quite entertaining. I’m listening to all the books!! Pierce is a wonderful narrator.

The Best Yet

Wow! I may have a book hangover for days. This series continues to deliver one amazing story after another, and this latest adventure of Mikaela's and Brodie's is the best one yet. Even better, there are more to come. I can only hope it is sooner than later.
