What an introduction

This is my first book by this author, and it won't my last. Look at the cover? Oh, yes please.

This book is so full of over-the-top alpha goodness and one very strong-willed heroine. I have to admit I don't normally listen to Paranormal fiction. This was certainly an introduction, I don't regret.

This story is about a virus which turns the male populations into uncontrollable beast. The two main actors are Mallory (a reporter who has had firsthand exposure to the Awaken virus and Origin (a male who was turned by the virus).

This book has all the feels and certainly a few plots twist you don't see coming.

I love the narrators Kelsey Navarro and James Anderson Foster. I believe they were certainly the perfect pick for Mal and Orion.

Set aside a day and dive into this amazing Anna Fury offering, you won't be sorry you did.

I hesitated getting this book

I hesitated getting this book because there was a skip in the sample I thought that was how the actual book was going to be but it's not if you actually get the book there's no skip there I really enjoyed this book

Interesting story/ fn not great

Had read the Kindle book before buying the Audiobook so I was already impressed with the unique storyline & it’s possibilities; I’d def recommend it.
Unfortunately I did not enjoy the Audiobook due to the female narrator, Kelsey. She has a dry, almost monotone voice with these little rhythmic lilts that sound planned out, probably to compensate, but didn’t do the trick & instead sounded jarring. The male narrator, James, did a nice job & was believable as his character. Still it wasn’t an easy or enjoyable Audible for me & skipped almost all of the fmc parts.

An amazing introduction to the OV world

This was my first OV book and, when the audiobook was released, I knew I had to buy it. I loved the world building and the story but the narrators took the awesome characters to a whole new level! I will definitely check other audiobooks from Anna Fury’s world.

I read this book on kindle a while back, when I found out the audiobook was available I immediately had to get it!
I love how unique this series is and I have yet to read anything else like it.
The narrators did and incredible job and I highly recommend this series 😍

Dystopian Omegaverse Romance

The Alpha Awakens by Anna Fury is a dystopian omegaverse romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Kelsey Navarro and James Anderson Foster. This is the first book in the Alpha Compound series.

This is the first book of Anna's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I enjoyed the relationship between Orion and Mallory. I liked that we got both of their points of views throughout the book.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Wake Up, Alpha to be released on audio so I can get Samson and Pen's story.

Kelsey and James did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like dystopian romances or omegaverse romances.

Omg yes please! Definitely a must listen

Goodness gracious…I now have a new favorite OV author. 😍 This book was absolutely divine and the narrators just brought this book to life! First off, I love me an OTT possessive alphahole but Ri is just something different. I loved that this book was mostly his POV and his feelers made my heart all melty. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the series progresses and what comes next. I’m obsessed and I know this is going to go on the top my comfort read/listen list from now on.

Amazingly HOT & Unique Shifter/Omegaverse Romance!

I am a huge fan of PNR, Dark, Shifter, and Alpha romances. Anna Fury absolutely floored me with her contemporary take on the Omegaverse. The world building Anna does is amazing. It’s post-apocalyptic and has such relatable characters. The “Awakened” virus hit three years ago. They call it that because some men transition into ravenous uncontrollable beast. The world is not the same anymore. It is not safe for either the awakened, and women fear they will be taken by these men. Mallory (Mal) Is a reporter in NYC. She’s afraid to even leave her home alone because she’s seen firsthand what happens when a man transitions into an awakened. That is until Orion, an awakened, comes straight to her door and in the commanding but sultry tone demands her to open it. When she lets him in..sparks fly and she cannot deny the pull, some sort of connection. She realizes that these awakened are actually called alphas. They are not the mindless beast the media portrays them. She agrees to go to Orion’s “compound” where there are so many other Alphas, Orion is the pack’s enforcer. She’s helping the pack by reporting their side of the story. That they are not animals, should not be feared. They did not want to hide away from the world anymore. Soon, Mal and Orion realize the strength of their connection in just a few days. The attraction is undeniable. Orion is such a romantic and he’s so patient with Mal. It is her choice to claim him as a mate. She is hesitant, confused at what this will mean. The bond between an omega and her alpha is a forever bond. Let me just say the animalistic behavior is just so damn hot! It makes for a very wild and kinky sex scenes. These Alphas are huge.. over 6 feet, huge EVERYWHERE….
Kelsey Navarro and James Anderson Foster narrate this beautifully. Kelsey portrays Mal’s sassy, smart personality perfectly. The character growth, the emotions..it’s all there. She nailed it! James was the perfect fit for Orion. While he’s so terrific at being the ultra dominant, super growly alpha, he’s also able to convey all of Orion struggles, worries , and vulnerability in a fantastic way!

Good steamy romance

Very much like the “interstellar bride” books by Grace Goodwin. The interstellar brides books are even more erotic, but this book is also quite erotic, with lots of hot dirty talk, as well. I think this series will get even more erotic as the future books are suppose to have two or even 3 men sharing one woman, so I am looking forward to that, just like the interstellar brides series, this book was very well written, without the “he said she said”boring dialog of other authors books, instead these books are about what the characters are thinking and doing so it is always moving and engaging! There is no war, military, or politics! Yeah! It has a very short list of very likable sexy male characters that I am also looking forward to as I’m sure they will be the lead characters in the next books. Excellent character development! very entertaining.

Great story!

So this audiobook took me for a wild ride, the story, the setting, the characters and the way the story unfold in this dystopian omegaverse romance had me listening and wanting to unfold all the secrets surrounding this mysterious virus that only affected men.

Mallory is a reporter living a mostly solitary life after a mysterious virus breaks loose affecting men turning them into the "awakened". What she thought about this "awakened" changes very quickly after Orion knocks on her door. From there the story takes a different turn and Mallory is introduce to this group of Alphas trying to change how humanity in general thinks about them.

There is an intense connection between Mallory and Orion and in this book we learn so much about the special connection between Alphas and their Omegas.

I think the narrators did a fantastic I defiantly think Orion was super swooning and I can't wait for the rest of the alpha's stories.
