So goood!!!

Never a dull moment.. books starts with drama, and you can’t blame a girl for trying to get why she wants.. thankfully Nixon and Mallory were able to work it out and find their happily ever after!! Huge fan of Ak Evans.. have not come across a book of hers I don’t like!!! I think I could listen to Stephen Dexters voice over and over..

2nd book inthe series and I loved it. Lidia and Stephen were great as the narrators. Actually first time hearing Lidia and I am now a fan.

Harper Security Book 2!

Tempted is the second book in the Harper Security Ops series by A. K. Evans. Tempted is about Nixon and Mallory.
Nixon is the cousin of the owner of Harper Security and works as a kidnapping and ransom expert at the company and Mallory the best friend of Nix's brother's girlfriend.
Nixon and Mallory met when Mallory received a call from her best friend’s father when she didn’t come home the night before. Mallory rushes to her ex-boyfriend’s apartment to see if they were back together after breaking up due to her job as an escort but he didn’t seem to be concerned as he was hurting from the split. While talking together with Mallory letting him know that the escort job is only an escort job, he receives a text that changes things, someone has taken her. They rush to Harper Security, and this is where Mallory meets Nixon and gets to see him at work and watch as they all pitch in to help locate her. Mallory is attracted to Nixon and wants more than a friends with benefits, but Nixon doesn’t do relationships. Mallory knows she deserves happiness and since Nixon can’t give her the relationship that she so desperately wants will he find that love is worth fighting for if it is with the right person?

I can’t wait for the next one to come out!

What a great story

What a great read. The romance between Mallory and Nixon felt realistic to me. I liked the suspense woven through the story but, felt like at times as the reader I was being led into a separate storyline that didn’t really matter, i.e. Connor, Ashley, and Anthony. Looking forward to the next story. In the audiobook narrated by Stephen Dexter and Lidia Dornet I thought they did a fabulous job depicting the characters.

Nixon and Mallory

In this wonderfully written story, we get to find out about Magnolia's best friend, Mallory and Killian's brother, Nixon, from Terrible Lie. Nixon is determined to never have a serious relationship and Mallory tries to have a friends with benefits relationship with him, but fails because there is no friends in their relationship. But there are threats to Mallory's life and Nixon pushes aside his vow to protect her.

The narration for this book was fantastic! Both narrators read their parts with inflection and it was perfect for bringing Mallory and Nixon to life.

Another Fantastic Audio!!

Tempted is the 2nd book in the Harper Security Ops series. Mallory & Nixon meet by chance when Mallory's best friend is kidnapped and Nixon is working the case. Mallory is instantly interested in Nixon, but Nixon is in no way interested in a relationship. Seeing the how giving your heart to someone can shatter a person, Nixon has said he'd never get that close to someone. He is a one night stand guy. Mallory, on the other hand, has never had a one night stand, but offers a friends with benefits relationship with Nixon if that's all he's willing to give. As time goes on, Nixon pulls away leaving Mallory hurt that she can't seem to get the friendship she was hoping for. When Mallory is robbed at gunpoint & later kidnapped from her business, Nixon is determined to bring her home safely so he can share his true feelings with her.
I previously read Tempted, but this review is based off the audio version of the book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book, but the Audio was even better. The narrators were great to listen to and paired well together. There's just something about being able to hear to emotion in the narrators voice that makes everything feel like you're right there in the book. I highly recommend this whole series, whether it's in book or audiobook form. You cannot go wrong with Evans series. Each book continues to get better!!

Great Listen!

Nixon and Mallory’s story is full of emotion along with some suspense and drama along the way. I truly enjoyed their story and seeing Nixon come to his senses and fall for Mallory 100%. A great addition to this series.

Stephen Dexter and Lindsay Dornet were excellent narrators!

Harper Security Ops Book 2 - no cliffhanger!

I loved the first book in this series and couldn’t wait to see meet the next couple. Nixon and Mallory have a wonderful story. The journey these two have to follow in order to make it together brings you along for the rollercoaster ride along with them both.

Most of the book is in Mallory’s POV, however the chapters we get to hear Nixon’s thoughts enrich the story! Lidia Dornet and Stephen Dexter bring such life to these characters!! They do not just read the story for you, they embody all of the characters.

Cannot wait for the next installment of this series! These books can be listened to or read as a stand-alone even though characters from other books make appearances.

A good addition to the series

We are back with the Harper Security operatives and this one belongs to Nixon Scott. A man that has been hurt by love and nowadays is only looking for one night stands.
Mallory Grant meets Nixon when her best friend is kidnapped. The attraction between them is evident, but each wants something different in a relationship. Leaving Mallory hurt.
All this changes when Mallory is robbed and kidnapped . Knowing he could lose her, Nixon will do everything to rescue Mallory.
Will he be able to rescue her? If so, will he realize that loving a person can be a wonderful experience and worth the risk?
I have to confess that I was not a fan of Mallory and it took me a while to warm up to her.
That said, the audiobook was entertaining and the narrators, Stephen Dexter and Lidia Dornet brought the story to life.

A Great Performance by Dexter and Dornet

The fact that I adore everything A.K. Evans puts out is a given. She balances the steamy chemistry and heart-tugging moments of a great contemporary romance with an element of danger and suspense that keeps us turning those pages. “Tempted,” Book 2 in the Harper Security series, is no different. I couldn’t wait for Nixon to get his story and then realizing his other half is another character I adore from this lineup just made it that much more special. Lidia Dornet (a new-to-me narrator) did a good job of bringing out the feistiness of Mallory, and she is an excellent complement to the $exy-as-sin Nixon (who has a great heart but honestly just needs to get out of his own way at times), played by a favorite of mine, the amazing Stephen Dexter. There is nothing I don’t love about this tale, and the roadblocks in their journey toward Happily Ever After only make it sweeter. As always, Evans gives us masterful storytelling with main and side characters that we can’t help but adore, and I just can’t wait for the next one! A big ol’ pile of shining stars here, A.K. Evans!
