Publisher's summary

The only thing worse than an assassin is a zombie assassin.

That's what I find myself up against when a celebrity hypnotist turns up dead on Christmas. Except this killer is no ordinary zombie - and I should know. The name's Cisco Suarez, and besides being the Miami Police Department's resident supernatural consultant, I'm a practicing necromancer.

With a series of murders threatening to reveal the existence of magic, anti-animist militias capture the public heart, and the streets are rife with unrest and vigilantes that aren't me. To add to my growing list of distractions, a tenacious FBI agent swears I'm the infamous Shadow Man and uses increasingly hostile tactics to uncover the truth. Meanwhile, my girls Fran, Darcy, and Milena all find themselves in existential trouble.

Against all that, I still have a killer to find. So I enlist the help of a curious dog, dig up an old grave, and tie the zombie's origins to the 12 days of Christmas. Talk about holiday cheer. Is it Christmas season or hunting season - and who's hunting who?

If you like Jim Butcher, Shayne Silvers, Steve McHugh, or John Conroe, then you are going to love Domino Finn's contribution to the smart-talking MC that's perpetually stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Cisco is back in rare form

Was so happy to see our Outlaw back and he brought most of his friends and a few enemies with him. I must confess I was a little put off by the last book. This book has a lot going on so keep up. Love the addition of the pet, a shadow charmers best friend. Our narrator Neil Hellegers does a wonderful job as usual and we have seen this character grow in power so keep them coming Domino Finn, no reason to stop now. I would definitely recommend

So good 🖤

Cisco rules... Open Season is packed full with action, excitement and wicked magic. Never predictable always surprising.
Totally loved it.
There is nothing I've read or listened to that is quite like it.

Neil Hellegers is highly talented and oh so cool as Cisco!

Another Epic Romp

Continues to strike the perfect balance of action, story, and memorable characters. One of the best urban paranormals I’ve ever read.

Another must listen

Cisco keeps maturing and the stories keep getting better. New characters including a dog I hope will become a permanent addition, keep Cisco’s storyline fresh and surprising. Basically another must read for fans of him. New readers are lucky to now have 8 volumes to escape with. I may just start over again .. This and the Iron Druid series are the most fun urban fantasy series period.

Another in an excellent series!

Urban fantasy better than I thought it could be. It is comparable to all of the best out there but with that something extra. I don’t know if it’s the more believable personalities of the characters or the more adult tone but, this series has been well worth the investment of time and I can hardly wait for the next installment.

Love love love

The last Black Magic Outlaw book fell a little flat for me so it's great to see this one is back on track. Excellent! I recommend this one as well as anything by this author, now here's to waiting for the next one.
