Slow at times

Initially, Darcy is a key suspect and he is kept from seeing her. The story slowly unveils what actually happened, piece by piece, so we have a sense of what if feels like for Lizzy to learn the truth. It is well done.
I find I cant say much more without giving away a spoiler or two, so I will simply recommend this to any JAFF readers that also like a good mystery.
Well Written and Well Told

The story starts in Lambton at the inn the Gardiners are staying and at that point when Darcy comes to see Elizabeth. This is where the story goes off canon, with Darcy finding things quite different than the reader expected. Elizabeth has had a disturbing conversation with Wickham and it shows on her face. Darcy feels she needs a glass of wine and goes to find one. By the time he returns he arrives in time to watch her fall on her face right in front of him and with not enough time to catch her. Furthermore she has someone other injuries surgeon finds later. The premise is that Elizabeth has lost some of her memory. Regaining that memory is a puzzle that Elizabeth puts together bit by bit throughout the bookb.
At one point Mr Gardiner believes Darcy was responsible for her injuries and bans him from seeing her. So there is the angst of separation as both want to get back together after their better understanding they achieved at Pemberley.
Some of the usual villains are here and finding them in order to both learn the truth and bring them to justice is a part of the story and part of helping Elizabeth regain her memories. Unfortunately the hardest ones to remember are the most ugly ones.
I’m not doing this excellently crafted story justice. As a book it was a page turner and as an audio it was hard to turn off for real life.
I highly recommend this. And I love this narrator!
