Interesting Collection

Anthologies are always fun. With so many stories, we get to see a variety of writing styles from the same author. I liked some of the stories in this book more than others, but none of them were bad. A few were on the odd end of the spectrum, but all in all, I thought they were each interesting in their own way.

The narrator was almost theatric in his performance, changing up voice between characters and stories. Definitely made for an interesting listen.

Creepy stories!

There are several really enjoyable creepy stories in this one! Very nice variety included. I enjoyed the length of the stories. Enough to give you a bit of a thrill, and leaving you mostly to your own conclusions.

I enjoyed the narration on this one a great deal. The voice was perfectly suited for stories of macabre.

I'm interested in hearing more from the next book sampled at the ending. Over all very enjoyable!

Great scary stories for a road trip!

I listed to this audiobook during a road trip and thoroughly enjoyed it. At one point, I skipped a rest stop just so I can hear the end of an engaging story!

Also the narrator does a great job! He really draws you in.

fun short horror stories

A collection of short horror stories. I enjoyed most of them. A few I wish was longer to see what more could have been done with the story.

Good Stories, Great Narration

This was a good collection. They weren't the scariest stories, but I don't think horror has to be scary to be horror. Sometimes it can just be about atmosphere. I thought The Ghost of a Melody was particularly pretty. The varied narration was definitely a strong point in the listen.

Hit and miss

At my request, I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Maybe my hopes were too high. Being a horror fanatic and this being a horror collection, I expected most of the stories to be horrific, or at least somewhat scary. What I found, at least in my opinion, was a collection of stories that were more strange than anything. Sort of twilight zone..maybe? Don’t get my wrong, I really enjoyed a few of them, but most of them just left me more confused than anything. A couple of times I had to pause and back up to listen again because I wasn’t exactly sure what was going on. The point seemed lost. The narrator’s voice was pretty distracting too. Maybe I would’ve liked it more if the stories were told in another voice. There seemed to be quite a bit of suspense within a lot of the chapters, but when the much awaited moment came I was sort of let down. I’m still not totally sure what I listened to.

Sinister Sentiments

A nice collection of stories. The characters and worlds were interesting, and I was pulled into the stories. These are quick listens that give you a glimpse at different worlds. Some of the stories are creepy but this collection is not scary horror in my opinion. Narrator Paul Burt does a good job of moving the stories along and giving life to the characters.
