Publisher's summary

From national best-selling author Robin R. Speziale - learn how to make money investing in growth stocks.

In Capital Compounders, DIY investor and national best-selling author Robin R. Speziale makes it easy for anyone to beat the market and make money investing in growth stocks!

Robin R. Speziale shares his journey building a $300,000+ stock portfolio before 30 (and how you can, too!) by investing in growth stocks or “Capital Compounders” - stocks that double, and then double again, and again on the market. Capital compounder stocks have achieved the “tenbagger” (one dollar turns into $10), and some even the “100-bagger” (one dollar turns into $100) status. Mr. Speziale discusses the commonalities of today’s market-beating growth stocks so you can find the next ones in the future.

What you will learn in the audiobook:

  • How you can turn zero dollars into $300,000 (and more) by saving and then investing in growth stocks
  • Why growth investing is better than value investing
  • What top growth stocks (“Capital Compounders”) have in common
  • A total of 72 rules for investing stocks, winning in the market, and managing a portfolio
  • Actual examples of tenbagger (10 times return) and 100-bagger (100 times return) stocks
  • More than 75 events and corporate developments that move stocks
  • How a hedge fund manager achieved a 24 percent compound annual return (since 1998!)
  • More than 50 predictions for the future
  • Exclusive interviews with a small-cap technology analyst and a growth hedge fund manager
  • How to decode market psychology and control your own behavioral biases
  • Growth investing strategies from the world's top growth investors
  • Daily routine - how to stay on top of the stock market and find new growth ideas
  • More than 100 free DIY investor resources (all of my favorites!)

Capital Compounders is for both budding and seasoned investors. It’s entertaining (because finance can be dry) and includes lots of easy-to-learn tips and strategies on growth investing that you can apply in the stock market.

Robin R. Speziale is a DIY investor and Globe and Mail national best-selling author of Market Masters (2016). He's been investing in the stock market since 2005 and built a $300,000+ portfolio before 30. Mr. Speziale lives in Toronto, Ontario.

I really wanted to love this book

I have read a lot of financial and investing books. The subject of this book is interesting and some of the information is clear and helpful to the uninitiated. Finding equity investments that are compounding capital at high rates is sort of the holy grail for growth investors, So, I really wanted to love this book. However, the book suffers from two major problems. The first, is that it is not organized particularly well and seems to be a collection of blog posts and reworked previously published material. Sometimes that can be good if done artfully, which this unfortunately is not. I often enjoy listening to writers read their own work, even if they are not the most inspiring readers. That brings me to the second problem. Mr. Speziale is a slow and seemingly uninterested reader and the audiobook suffers from a notable lack of audio editing. There are many, many errors, misread lines, repetitions and corrections that should have been edited prior to release.

This is a time tested way to make money in stocks.

There are many ways to make money in the stock market. Finding a way that works for you and allows you to sleep at night is the most difficult. Robin's book is all about the way he makes his stock selections. Robin wants long term growth at a reasonable price. After listening to the audio book I am fairly certain that you will go back and look at your investments with a slightly different light. It appears that Robin is very well read as many of his methods have been acquired over time from some of the best minds on wall street.

I think the book could be a little more organized and a professional reader would make the listening experience a little easier. I have to tip my hat to Robin as I personally like self starters that are aggressive. Listening to Robin read his book you can tell that he is passionate about the stock market and what he is doing.

I think all investors should read Speziale's book just like they should read Schwager, Lefevre, Buffet, Graham, Dalio, and Piketty to name a few. Finding a way to make money in stocks is usually learned from adapting ideas from other successful investors.

Great content, horrendous editing (if any)

I have a hard time knowing wether to recommend this book. For one it’s very informative and inspiring, but I don’t know if the author was scammed or simply chose not to have any editing or sound production done.

Audio and structural oddities you can expect.

Author stumbling over words and restarting sentences (multiple times)

Author coughing and sneezing (once or twice)

Exact same phrasing of content appearing in multiple chapters.

Book saying it’s at its conclusion only to go on for another hour.

These are just some of the strange oddities you can expect. I was bothered at first but after awhile I found it almost endearing and hilarious how unprofessional this recording is. It makes me wonder what the story behind it is. If things like that is an absolute no go for you, I can’t recommend this book. However I still found this book immensely helpful and motivating. There is so much useful information contained within and given there aren’t many growth investing audio books out there, I still enjoyed this one, despite its.. well lack of any editing whatsoever.
