Story engaging but author not too familiar with regency era

Great story! I really enjoyed the characters (although they all behave vastly different than in the books), the story line was great and I was engaged up through the end. The author needs to brush up on the regency era however, this did detract from the story a bit. A lot of the situations simply wouldn’t have occurred (IE the main characters are often alone with no chaperone, Lydia can go to an inn with a man without destroying the reputation of the whole family and I’m not certain the author is aware the Tonne refers to London itself, not just any town).

Enjoyed the story but not the narrator.

I had a hard time enjoying this story because of the narrator’s voice and sound. She sounded droll, drawling, tough and haughty. Not like the characters. It can be a mix of how the story was written as well that was out of character. I think this is the first Jane Austen fan fiction book I have not enjoyed to its fullest. Before you buy listen to the sample. Reading the story by yourself might be better :) cause it was a good story and well written.

A True Disappointment

The premise was promising, but poorly executed. The characters are not true to canon, and there are so many inconsistencies that I was appalled. The language was not true to the period, for example one character spoke of "my man" when a regency woman would speak of her beau. Don't waste your money.

Who are these people?

No character in this story is recognizable, nor is the setting. This story would have sat better with me if it was about totally different characters. Pemberly house, Netherfield & Longbourne all in Hertfordshire?? Very disappointed.

Not believable

Just too many inconsistencies. They are supposedly in Merton, yet are sending a note to Pemberley house as if it is a few miles away only. Darcy laughing and being amiable not believable. The character sketches have no depth. Couldn’t finish.
