Cherringham is a series à la Charles Dickens, with a new mystery thriller released each month. Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing duo: English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the self-contained episodes is a quick listen for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or when curling up with a hot cuppa.

For fans of Agatha Christie's "Miss Marple series", Lilian Jackson Braun's "The Cat Who series", Caroline Graham's "Midsomer Murders", and the American TV series "Murder She Wrote", starring Angela Lansbury.

Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid 90's, creating content and working on projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and - most recently - the successful crime fiction series Cherringham.

Volume issues

Audio was hard to hear often when voice volume dips. Otherwise a good reading and story

Delightful!

These are quaint charming mysteries that keep you guessing to the very last. An added bonus is that they do not contain any offensive language. I’m happy I purchased the complete series.

short who done it stories. easy listening and interesting. I enjoyed all 3 episodes.

Just Delightful!

I am a huge fan of "Midsomer Murders' and this was like having a audio version of the series, with a few modifications.
this is well done. The storylines are simple, and easy to follow. The characters are well drawn but not too complicated.
And having the narration done by DCI Barnaby, well, what more can a girl ask? The only issue is that I had to re-download the book due to sound issues.. but maybe it was just me.

Looking forward to more of this series. A nice break from some of the heavier books on my list.

Great English Mysteries

A great pair that turns into a great friendship, that turns into a great pair of mystery sleuths. I am glad that I gave these a go, they were a great read all!

I'm Hooked! Moving on to the next series!

I Love This Series

What did you love best about Cherringham - A Cosy Crime Series Compilation (Cherringham 1 - 3)?

I listen to many cosy mysteries. I am English and I've spent about half my life in the UK and half in the US. This is the first series I've read/listened to that seems authentic from both perspectives. I don't know anything about the authors, but perhaps one of them is English and one American?

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jack and Sarah - both good characters.

What about Neil Dudgeon’s performance did you like?

Really excellent in all the parts. Jack doesn't sound like he's from New York, but maybe we'll learn he isn't from there originally.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Just pleasant listening.

I'm up to episode 6 in the series and looking forward to listening to the rest as they are released.

I loved the short stories. Great for commuting.

My only complaint is the narrator - his voice drops at the end of a sentence and you miss what he says. Constantly rewinding or guessing what was said.

entertaining audiobook

loved the short story format, I didn't feel like it was taking forever to listen to the book.
