Absolutely superlative narration and a wonderfully written story. This outstanding book has gentle, warm, inventive, display of how to live through the pain and joy of life. Don't miss this beautifully crafted story.

I Wish I'd Listened to This Book First

I recommend listening to Britt-Marie Was Here: A Novel before this book. I was not aware that Britt-Marie is introduced in this story. I enjoyed both books. But I will relisten to Britt-Marie Was Here to intertwine the back story.

I started with "A Man Called Ove" and am listening to all of Fredrik Backman's stories. Mr. Backman writes about the most outstanding characters I've come across in years.

This is great storytelling. Joan Walker's narration brings the characters alive. This is a delightful tale.

An amazing insight into a child's perspective without being in the slightest "childish". Very satisfying listen.

Terrific book! Wonderfully entertaining! Joan Walker is a fantastic narrator. She adds so much to the enjoyment of the book! All-around fabulous book!

My new favorite

Love this book! Characters are real and make believe. I’m sharing it with my granddaughter because that’s what grandmothers do! I think I’m going to read more by this author. Excellent story telling

Joan did a fantastic job!

A wonderful story relayed perfectly to the listener. All of the characters were brought to life, especially Granny! Each letter brought us to the characters of The Land of Almost Awake and blended them so easily to the people in Elsa's life.

Mr. Blackman is a master at making characters come alive! When I finished this book I cried because I felt like I was losing friends. Fantastic book in every way.

One of the best books ever

I have not enjoyed a book this much in a very long time. I did not want it to end.

a tale of two stories

it took awhile for me to get absorbed in the book. Not sure if that was me being distracted or if it was the story. I did start seeing the two stories entwining and ultimately enjoyed the book very much.
