This was a decent lesson

The story was entertaining enough to finish however it felt anticlimactic at some points. The story moves really fast too, so that left me feeling like I missed something. The spicy 🌶️ scenes were nice! And overall the story was good. I love that the characters were black and I would definitely read more from this author!

Enjoyed the back stories of Theo and Shola and their coming together to battle the vampires and confront their past to reclaim their future!!!!

Enjoyable fantasy!

This was my first book by ACA and I enjoyed it. It’s multiple POVs but not overwhelming. The fantasy themes are easy to follow. It’s a spicy read with action and twists.

Dragon love

Yes — A.C. Love this connection of dragon shape shifters and Orisa. Please do more African Americans shape shifting novels. Yes I’ve read all of the big cat series.

Unique story

An interesting story that kept my attention throughout. The female lead was strong and determined. The male was just as strong. A good leader but with more issues. The writing was smooth and the characters interesting. This series shows promise.

Good story, narrator could be better

This book was exactly what I was looking for to introduce my book club to fantasy. I chose it because it had African Americans as the main characters instead of a throw away character that’s in most fantasy themed books.(if they are mentioned at all) The only constructive criticism is about the narrator. To me he was monotone. Sometimes it was hard to tell the difference between the characters and the story telling.

Interesting

I really liked all of the fantasy involved with this. There are a lot of fantasy elements that I love, such as dragons, vampires, and Gods. My favorite is the use of the Orishas instead of the usual Greek gods.

The narrations was good. I think at some parts new chapters weren't announced, which wasn't good for me because I was waiting for the start of the next chapter to pause at one point. However everything sounded good, I wasn't confused about what I was hearing at any point.
