Great Series Ending Story

Scientists fall in love in a SciFi Romance. Sounds kind of corny but it worked really well in this action-packed series ender. It wrapped up the series nicely while still maintaining the main characters' goals as well as the sought after HEA.

OMGosh!!!! I can't express how much I loved this!!

This entire series!! Gorgeous hunk of man with brains, brawn and an undying love and faithfulness...Avren!! Set on his course of a cure for the agony of extracting their wings Avren enlists the help of the only person who can help him...Vanessa...his one true love. Vanessa is a genetic scientist who won't allow anyone or anything to get in the way of her career, even the love of her life...Avren.  Agreeing to work together to save the Auxem the unbearable pain they experience when extracting their wings, the two face attempts on Vanessa's life, the betrayal of Avren's closest family friend and their feelings for each other.  Hot, sizzling almost sex scenes keep you fanning yourself and wishing these two would hurry up and realize that they were meant for each other. Everyone knows that the Auxem Bond is forever...!  Loved this audiobook and the final chapters including the whole family a few years later is a wonderful way to end this book. I hope there are more, future books about the Auxem royals and their entire race. Amazing world building and characters that you can't help but to love make this a FANTASTIC listening experience. I can't wait to see where you take me to next.

the tension!

avren asks his ex- girlfriend to help solve the pain of deploying wings the Auxem suffer from. these two working together is enough sexual tension to light anyone's fire! but someone is trying to shut down their research and is willing to kill. there is danger, suspense, adult content and cursing.

Avren and Vanessa

I have listened to every book in this series and loved them all but if you haven't read or listened to the books in this series there is no need to worry that the storyline might be a bit confusing. The background is filled in quite nicely and the background together with this current storyline make this a very enjoyable book.

Avren is the last of the five princes of Auxem to get his own story, he's sexy, brilliant and desirable. Some time ago he met and fell in love with Vanessa Dwyer a brilliant geneticist. They had their scientific interest in genetics in common as well as a very strong sexual attraction. Avren and Vanessa never actually made love because if they did they would become bonded until death but he did let her in on a secret relating to his race. Although they loved each he never asked her to become his because he felt she wanted a career more than she wanted to be with him. The result, they both ended up nursing broken hearts but have never forgotten each other. Now they have a second chance but will they take it?

Avren has now returned to ask Vanessa to help him find a way to alter the genetics of his race but will she agree? If she does do they have a chance to be together? So much has changed since they were last together. Will their research be welcomed by his whole race?

The plot is very involved the fact that the men from Auxem can't use their wings without a tremendous amount of pain and Avren wants to find a cure I thought was a good twist. It's a bit like we have arms but we can't use them without pain! You would expect this to be welcomed wholeheartedly wouldn't you?

All these questions are answered in this book but I can't say anymore without giving too much of the plot away. What I can say is that the writing style, chemistry and storyline are all fantastic as is the narration.

a funny and emotional one

I found Avren pretty funny, he was one of the more serious auxem in some things, but you could grasp the caring and loving person he was inside.

Vannessa was a sassy one a little too afraid but who isn't after a lot of bad experiences in life.

I liked the plot it was pretty interesting and a little suspensful at some point I was like OMG so cool all this and I loved that this one as the others auxem novels, have little cameos of other terramates novels that was fantastic.

for the narrators I loved the girl, the male voice was I dont know but it didnt make the cut for this one I think.

All Round Great Story and Narration.

I haven't read this series from the beginning, but I was never lost in the story because I didn't know what was going on. When the book says it's a stand-alone, it really means it.

Vanessa and Avren had a special chemistry that is so easy to see in yourself. The idea of a first love coming back into your life is one that is timeless. The idea that is coming together to fix a problem that both of them are specially equipped to handle is a great concept to the story. Avren feels a need to help his family which is a concept as old as time. There is always some kind of trouble in her books, however; this book the problem is subtle. The ability to enjoy the time Vanessa and Avren have relearning about each other isn't overshadowed by the violence or whatever trouble is in the story.

The narration in this book was great. They used two voices one for Avren and one female for Vanessa. They made the story more interesting to listen to. My only negative with the whole book is the connection between Audible and Amazon isn't there. I am an immersion reader and love when I can follow along in the book. This book was not connected to its Amazon title. That made reading a little more difficult. You have to search for the place you were because the books aren't connected and its spot isn't saved in both.

This is a book that will make me read the previous books and any new ones that Lisa Lace writes in the future.

Throughout the Auxem Series I have had many questions and this latest installation finally answers them. Lisa went a different direction with Avren and Vanessa’s story. Of course there was sexy characters, adventure, excitement and steamy sex-not-sex (if you’ve read about the Auxem Men then you know what I mean, wow! Who could have thought that almost sex could be so HOT!) but she added a bit of mystery and intrigue that kept me guessing why. I loved how all my questions were answered, getting caught up on all my favorite characters from the series, knowing where it all led but I really loved Avren and Vanessa and all they had to overcome to get to their HEA.

Love the brothers

Another book in the Auxem world. I love these books. All the brothers. Hope there will be more in the future with this world. I love the Terra mate books but i am very fond of the Auxem stories and also, i have to mention, the Water world books. These were my favorites out of all i have read/listen. Keep it up Lisa.

I take it back...

This one is my favorite. Avren and Vanessa are my absolute favorite couple of this series. I don't know if this series has any more books, but this is my favorite of the series so far. Avren and Vanessa have a bit more history than the previous couples which makes them unique. Each of the previous couples met after the Auxem came to Earth looking for mates. Avren and Vanessa met years ago on a different planet while they were both in college. They were hot and heavy, but things didn't work because they were each holding themselves back. They both suffered from fear of heartbreak and they both had some pretty serious abandonment issues. They finally came back together to work on a cure for the pain the men feel whenever their wings come out. Throughout they work of their experiments they came back together romantically as well as professionally. I really like their story as it is filled with second chance love, action, betrayal and triumph. Well done to the author and the narrators. Together they made this a phenomenal story and performance. Wish there was more. Guess I'll head back to TerraMates for more.

When AVREN almost drowns and when saving him Vanessa realizes she still loves him.

Did Piper Fairweather and Trenton Todd do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Piper Fairweather did a good job. I also felt Trenton Todd did a good job with everyone's voice with the exception of Vanessa.

AVREN, is a fantastic story, the last book in Lisa Lace's Auxem series. AVREN is the fifth and youngest brother of the five Auxem Princes. He's a genetic scientist determined to finally put an end to their race's suffering by attempting to modify their DNA. The best geneticist in the galaxy just happens to be his ex. The ex her chose her career over him and broke his heart.

Vanessa values her career as a geneticist above all else as it provides her with the independence she needs to make her own decisions. She's not about to find herself depending on a man, like her mother always foolishly did, only to be let down. She fell in love with AVREN back when they were at University together, but then he left just like all men do. She might be willing to help him save the Auxem race, but she will never trust him with her heart again.

AVREN and Vanessa might both be brilliant scientists, but they have a lot of mistrust to overcome when it comes to loving each other. Which they still do, but pride and insecurities keep trying to get in the way. Throw in a relentless bad guy trying to quell all they are working so hard for and you've got a fantastic read!

I listened to the audiobook and was mostly pleased with the narration. There could have some improvement with the male narrator's rendition of Vanessa's voice, but otherwise I felt it well done. 4 stars
