    Hello and welcome to another episode of "Autoimmune Wellbeing with Pramila Gupta." I'm Pramila, your host, and today, we're delving into the world of autoimmune conditions. I won’t be talking complicated jargon here, but keeping it simple and straight to the point.

    Alright, let's get down to it. Autoimmune diseases happen when our immune system, which is supposed to be our body's protector against harmful pathogens, bacteria or viruses, starts to go a bit haywire. Instead of fighting the bad guys, it turns against our cells. It's like the body's defence system getting a bit confused.

    The immune system mistakenly identifies our healthy cells as invaders. Not a pleasant situation, right? This mix-up is what we call an autoimmune condition. Well, this isn't the only cause. Autoimmune diseases are complicated and different things are at play for different people.

    For some it could be genetics, that is someone in the family had an autoimmune condition and you could have the gene that got triggered due to some reason. It could be your environment, lifestyle, viral infection, metal toxicity, stress levels, or diet that can trigger the disease.

    Now, let's talk about symptoms – those signals your body gives you that something might be off. Chronic fatigue, joint pain, and inflammation are often the main players. And yes, these symptoms can vary, making it a bit of a puzzle to solve.

    So, how does this impact your daily life? Picture trying to navigate your usual routine with an unwanted guest – persistent fatigue or nagging pain. It's not always easy, and it can make everyday tasks feel like a bit of a challenge.
