Ascent from Darkness

How Satan's Soldier Became God's Warrior

By: Michael Leehan

Narrated by: Paul Boehmer

His assignment from Satan was to kill Pastor Craig Groeschel. Today he sits on the front row of that pastor's church. For twenty years of his life, Michael Leehan lived and worked for Satan. At age 33, he made a decision to serve the darkness that he felt had consumed his life, but instead of making things easier, it began a steeper downward spiral replete with ritualistic cuttings, blood sacrifices, jail time, job loss, estrangement from his friends and family, and actual murderous assignments from Satan himself. Ascent from Darkness relates Michael’s gripping, real-life encounters, enslavement to the powers of darkness, and miraculous emancipation from the clutches of the Enemy. For anyone who has ever struggled with spiritual warfare, addiction, depression, or hopelessness, Michael’s story is a bold reminder of the redemptive truth of the gospel that anyone—even a soldier of Satan—can be transformed and used for the glory of God. Now a servant of Christ, Michael exhibits the power of God’s relentless love and offers listeners the chance to experience their own ascent into God’s glorious light.

Very Interesting

Good book. I think he could have been a bit more specific. Scary story although.

Good book to show that satan and God do exist

There's always a spiritual battle going on in this world people need to open up their eyes spiritually to see. When you are lukewarm Christian that is when you're only alert to the world and not to the spiritual world this book will will show you....

Incomprehensible, Insightful, Totally Believable

I found Michael's story to be difficult to want to hear in the beginning as he began to talk about why he decided to follow Satan but knowing that his is a story of real life, flesh-and-blood man from Oklahoma, made me want to hear the end of it. By the time I got to the end of the story, I was on the edge of my seat, praising God and wanting to see what He would do with a life that was given fully to Him.

Gripping

A must listen book. I found it chilling and fascinating. Get it and you won't be disappointed.

Love of God is always bigger than our depravity

One can debate/ponder for forever-and-a-day about the existence of God, God's love, sin, evil, and the supernatural, but when you get a story like this you stop wondering and just get to know what is and how it is. This is a story that will revitalise your prayer life. It will show you that God is always in control no matter what. It will show you that you can never fall so deep that God can't reach you. It will show you that it's all worth it and to never ever give up until God cuts the line. It will convince you not to live in fear but to be bold and full of courage. God loves you way more than Satan can hate you, or you can ever hate God (for whatever reason). God does not hold grudges. He will use you when you come to him no matter what you did or tried to do. This book is a great investment.
