Great read/listen

This audiobook is actually GREAT! I’ve been writing music for a few years now but all of these tips were fantastic and things I want to begin incorporating into my process immediately.

I definitely recommend checking out the pdf that came with the audiobook since he moves through some of the tips and concepts very quickly (with the idea that you’ll be looking at the pdf.)

I recommend this book to any and every level of songwriter. These concepts and tips are universal and anyone can use them.

The reading was clear as well.

Perhaps the best songwriting book I've ever read

The techniques proposed by the author seems to be very useful and this approach can be used by people writing songs in English or any other language, which is great in comparison to many other songwriting books I've read before.

Nothing insightful here.

This book probably destroyed more songwriters than it encouraged. Anyone following the advice of this text is out there churning out pedantic drivel at open mics over cups of weak coffee.

It was good...

So narration started out robotic and monotone. There were mispronounced words and the general feel was that of a course assignment. I feel that had the author read this in his own intonation it would have mustered more emotion and been sweeter to the ears. I don’t want to discount the engagement. I was invested because of the nature of the book. Solid tips and methods. I didn’t listen to this for fun.

Jones

Rookies, Intermediate and Pro song writers can all learn from this book. This is one of the top three books on songwriting our world has to offer. Not only does the author discuss amazing and profound writing techniques, he informs you from up close and personal details concerning "The Industry", copyright, musical theory, composition, music producing, song structure techniques and OH soo much more. If you wanna have a big hit on a top chart somewhere in this world, this book will help you aquire that. AND.. all this decades of musical genius and wisdom is condensed in a audible book form that is less than 4 hours long!!!! If you want to be that star you dream about, watch and imitate on TV, YouTube and the radio etc. I suggest you read this book over and over until it is ingrained into your subconscious mind. That's about ten to fifteen times. I'll see you "SOON" at The Grammys!
