A foundered Victorian ship looking for the fabled Northwest Passage holds a secret in its icy grave . . .

When Dirk Pitt of NUMA is almost blown to pieces in a lab explosion, he suspects sabotage. The lab in question belongs to a scientist hoping to use a rare mineral to combat greenhouse gases - but who would want to destroy our one chance to save the planet?

But there are those who will do anything to control such a valuable prize. Pitt's investigations take him to the Arctic in search of a clue to the origins of this precious mineral. There he and NUMA colleague Al Giordino must battle for survival against the hostile elements and an evil megalomaniac who is about to plunge the North American continent into war . . .

Arctic Drift is a white-knuckle ride of a novel that sees Clive Cussler's greatest hero, Dirk Pitt, fighting his enemies in the cruel Arctic.

I’ve read almost all of Cussler’s books. I’m glad it is fiction, because the leaning on the global warming narrative gets tiresome.

Another good read.

Clive is the best. Entertaining. Not too bloody or vulgar. Great characters. I love how he ties into history with his current events.

Great story telling

Clive Cussler wrote wonderful books with intriguing story lines and fascinating characters. On occasion he would subtly advocate to be better stewards of the planet. He did so in such a manner as to actually improve the story and make you want to do better.

This book is nothing like that. This book is nothing more than screeching environmentalist propaganda with a weak story line awkwardly inserted between rants. I will continue to enjoy the original Clive Cussler works, but if Dirk Cussler's name is on the cover...hard pass!

unworthy of Clive Cussler's name

I have read / listened to just about every Clive book. This was the first one I felt was inappropriately over the top to the point it was annoying distracting re: global warming. Multiple points in the book slither down endless and unnecessary rabbit holes in an attempt to force the reader / listener to embrace the authors belief as fact. Time to find a new series author. Save yourself the 2 bucks and buy a cup of coffee with it.

If you are a Greta Thornburg fan you’re going to love this book force fed down your throat

I am a huge fan of the Dirl Pitt series but I can't take the sky is falling climate control nonsense! For God's sake, just stop preaching and write a good old adventure story with Al and Dirk rescuing the girl, stealing the admiral's cigars, recoving the treasure, stopping the bad guy and doing so with a sly grin and an "aw shucks...nothing to it". We're not here to read classic literature or get a Master's degree in made up climate "science", we're here to enjoy a fun read! Good luck finishing this one. Sorry Dirk and Al, I sadly had to just hit the stop button and move on from this one.

stop with the climate control preaching nonsense!!
