So much I didn’t know about Annie Oakley!

I love anything to do with the wild west and so was very excited to get this audiobook about Annie Oakley. I didn’t know she was married to an Irishman who was also a short shooter in an all the films I’ve seen of her it was him assisting her. I also didn’t know the story about Wilhelm the great leader who shot ashes of a cigarette hanging from his mouth. Also that she met queen Victoria, that she was adopted by sitting bull and I knew nothing of the end of her life. I know all this now and more thanks to this great book by captivating history. If you love history in the wild west you’ll love this book and I highly recommend it. It was so so interesting.

Learned More Than Before

Before I listen to this book I only knew that Annie Oakley was a Sharp Shooter. However, now I know that wasn’t her birth name. I also know she was married and met some of the coolest celebrities of her day including the Queen herself and Prince Edward.

Annie Oakley

The book gave a lot of attention to Annie's childhood as well as adult years. It was interesting to learn how things were back in those days when life was much harder than today and hunting skills might mean the difference between eating or not eating. it is always good to read and hear stories of strong women who were capable of so much despite their gender. .
