To hear Lara Parker reading was such a comfort. Her book giving a back story to why Angilque was as she was before she was what she had became.

Excellent Writing and Narration

Lara Parker was as exemplary a writer as she was an actress. She expands upon how Barnabas Collins and Angelique Bouchard first met in Martinique, and how her unrequited love for the handsome and dashing Barnabas sealed his romantic doom via a curse.

Ms. Parker effectively narrates all the characters with passion and keeps her listeners engaged. Lara obviously loved the story of Barnabas/Angelique/Josette and relished its retelling. I generally read nonfiction but thoroughly enjoyed this gothic romance and her narration.

RIP Ms. Parker. You are missed but not forgotten. Thank you for helping keep Dark Shadows - a classic! - alive.

Wonderful and Mysterious

Just loved this book. We finally get to see how Barnabas and she knew each other. And her childhood was quite intriguing. A must for any Dark Shadows fan!
