Amazing!

This book is the 7th one in the series and can be listened to as a standalone as well.

This was angsty, real, relatable and raw.

The characters were likeable and entertaining

I loved the we have a demisexual MC, abd moreover the representation was well handled.

This one has to be my favorite in the series.

David Piper performed an amazing audio delivery and narration

Angel Ink by Ali Lyda is the seventh book in the Get Ink'd series.  Emotions, sweetness, angst, and and a slower building steam.  The story was amazing, the romance beautiful,  and the characters felt real.  David Piper's narration added another layer of enjoyment to the story.  Great listening experience.

Great story.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the series is pretty cool. The narrator took some getting used to, cause damn his voice was powerful. But he did well with the narration and I had fun listening.

West coast drama

This is a solid addition to the Get Ink’d series. I enjoyed the slow burn between Kyzer and Joel. There was a touch too much drama to the story, especially on top of following Kyzer’s demisexuality and the need for an emotional connection first, but that’s as much personal taste as anything. I hope there ends up being another book with the new LA crew. David Piper does a good job bringing life to these characters.

Kyzer and Joel are awesome!

Charming addition to the series.  I wanted a little more from our narrator but he did a good job with Joel.  

I really enjoyed getting to know Kyser and Chester as they open the new LA shop.  Thought it was a creative idea to make the new shop into a TV series!  I enjoy tattoos and loved the show that was on TV.  

Our mc's Kyzer and Joel are awesome and their romance is such a romantic slow-burn.  I was glad to see a strong demisexual character like Ky be one of the leads in this story.  His need to get to know Joel was beautifully done.  The story was emotional and felt authentic. Their dating  just made my day. 

This is the seventh book in the Get Ink'd series.and can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

This can be read/listen to as a standalone. I have only listened to 5 and 6 before this one. I really enjoyed this story and of those 3 that I have read or listened to this was my favorite. I listened to it from start to finish and did not want to stop. It had my full attention the entire time. It was a sweet and heartwarming story. I thought the portrayal of being demi was realistically portrayed with the slow burn relationship development. The characters were both great. They had amazing chemistry. There is great word development that makes me want to go back and read the books I missed. If it wasn't for the brother I would have rated this 5 stars. With all the other dynamics going on I feel like that character and their drama could have been excluded and I wouldn't have missed it. It still would have been a great story with the work dynamic and I would have enjoyed it even more but that's maybe just due to personal bias. I also thought the one major scene at the end and the ending itself felt a little rushed.

the narration was great. He had a pleasant reading voice and kept a good pace. He used different voices for the characters and expressed the emotions well without overacting.

Great story but...

Great story. But i couldn't stand the narrators voice, it was irritating. His voice wasn't fit for the story. But, wanting to know the ending kept me going until the very end.

Good until the end ..

I loved this series until this last book. Narrator was awful. He overplayed all of the characters and made the story a boring unsexy tale ...
I am so disappointed!!!!!

Get more Ink'd

This is a part of the Get Ink'd series. Kyzer is a demi sexual tattoo artist and Joel is a talent manager that we were introduced to earlier in the series (Milo's agent). I learned a lot about what it means to be a demisexual in this story. I really enjoyed the slow build between these two characters and how the rest of the crew meld in with them. Fairly low angst and a slow burn but worth every minute. Listen to the whole series..you'll love it!

Sweet & Cute Romance

. Joel and Kyzer are an incredible couple. I absolutely love them together. You wouldn’t think these two would work because Joel has always been about work and family and Kyzer hasn’t been able to find anyone to understand and accept him. I really love how when they finally start really talking, they build a strong foundation of friendship and then love. It’s a truly beautifully sweet romance. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audio book.

A boss affair…

Kyzer and Joel’s story is rather sweet. I like the fact that Kyzer is demi and his romance with Joel is paced and focused. Yet so many things happen, and Joel loses prospective. Good thing he reflects on it fast enough. The secondary characters like Chester and Joel’s brother need their own book I think. Chester is awesome. I loved Kyzer and was rooting for him all the way!

Sweetness

Yay for demisexual rep!! I love diverse reads and I liked that these series has a few varying sexualities.
Kyzer is so sweet! I really liked his big marshmallow self and he shyness and care for others. He matches Joel well.
I liked Chester and would have loved his story! it would have been interesting to see him taken by the "curse" lol
A nice end to a wonderful found family, second chances series!

Brill

This is a brill book and I really enjoyed following Kyzer and Joel as their chemistry blossoms, they also have past feelings and family problems to deal with.

Love this world

Ahhh, Kyzer and Joel. These two had so much baggage to unpack and had to be so brave to take a chance on their relationship and I was pulling for them all the way. I love the way Ali Lyda always writes characters who are respectful and understanding of each other and willing to put in the work and have the patience required for a believable relationship and HEA. David Piper was perfect here. The longing, the uncertainty, the heat and the love were all there in his spot on, nuanced performance.

Good new narrator, good series

I’ll start with the narrator. The narrator of the first book of the series wasn’t great. Then Connor Brown took over and I really liked him. The author has changed narrators a third time and it took me a while to settle into the story. And I did settle. Although I have to say I don’t particularly like the vocal choices for the character Chester, so I’ll be wary if it’s this narrator for his book. I’ll pick it up, because I’m enjoying the series, but I might cringe a bit. Now, often authors have no choice but to switch narrators if they want to keep producing the series and I’m glad Ms. Lyda brought this book to audio. I’ll miss Connor, but I can soldier on with David.

Okay, on to the book. Another suggestion to authors – remember the reader might only listen. Kyzer is really cool name – except I heard Kaiser which aside from The Usual Suspects, doesn’t have a great connotation for me. Didn’t detract from my enjoyment, but definitely something I noticed.

This series has left the previous location and moved to a new tattoo shop is opening up in LA. The heart of the action so to speak. And agent Joel is there to wrangle the talent. It’s a little inconvenient that he wants to wrangle Kyzer physically as well as career-wise. Kyzer had my heart. I love characters who are demi because many readers see themselves reflected. I also liked that Kyzer was unapologetic. If someone didn’t understand him, that was okay. Fortunately Joel was willing to be patient and let the relationship grow organically.

The men have more than a few external impediments. Kyzer was in prison, and he’s only just coming to reconcile what happened while he was on the inside. He truly blames himself for a tragedy that wasn’t his fault. Joel’s brother is on a self-destructive path that’ll end with him dying if he doesn’t get help. But is Joel the right person to give it, or are the brothers too enmeshed?

Underlying all these threads is the tattoo store, and I got to see some old favorites and that meant a lot. I’m enjoying this series and I was happy for the little surprise at the end with some relocations and joyous news. I knew Kyzer and Joel were going to get their happy ending, but there was just enough angst to make me happy. I can’t wait for the next book.

Nice addition

Ali Lyda did a super job with the addition to the series. Kyzer and Joel where great characters to get to know. David Piper did a nice job with the narration. Loving the series.

Can a demisexual find love with a client?

Kyzer, a demisexual working for Get Ink'd, is good-looking, tattooed, large and intimidating, but gentle and very rarely dating, finds Joel attractive.
Joel, every time he looks at Kyzer, forgets how to form words and blushes. Kyzer's a client. He can't cross the line, or can he.

Although this is book 7, I believe these books can be read as standalone, but the series has been really enjoyable, and I would/have recommended all of them. We have a HEA as usual for these books. This book has a few triggers including drugs, drink and overdose.

David Piper has a smooth voice, and the main characters were narrated well; however, the side characters, some had weird hard to listen to voices. However, I did speed up to 1.40, which is typical for me.

AHHHHH

I was a little hesitant because of the narrator. It did take me a few chapters to get into it but overall i really enjoyed it. I hope this isn't the end as I think we need more of the west coast.
