Publisher's summary

No one's ever caught me thinking with my manhood.

Being demisexual means attraction doesn't always come easy. And it has a way of knocking me off my feet. I can't want Joel. I'm pretty sure he's scared of me, and we're working together.

It's a recipe for disaster.

Too bad my emotions say otherwise. And once they start talking, my body starts listening. I've been screwed by love before. Is Joel worth taking the risk?

There’s no need to get bent out of shape over one hot guy.

Managing talent puts me in the path of plenty of attractive men, so there's no reason to freak out every time I see Kyzer. Besides being gorgeous, he's covered in ink and as intimidating as they come. You'd never know from looking at him how gentle he is. He's a client and no matter how much I want him, he's off limits.

There are lines in this business that you can't cross. I know it's best for both of our careers. But what if throwing out the rules leads us down the path to happily ever after?

West coast drama

This is a solid addition to the Get Ink’d series. I enjoyed the slow burn between Kyzer and Joel. There was a touch too much drama to the story, especially on top of following Kyzer’s demisexuality and the need for an emotional connection first, but that’s as much personal taste as anything. I hope there ends up being another book with the new LA crew. David Piper does a good job bringing life to these characters.

love the book

Ok, I love this series so much. I love the charters and the storyline I have read this book a few times now but it pains me to say the narrator did not do this book justice. I don't know what was going on with this audio but the narrator was just flat the charters had no life to them what so ever.

Sweet & Cute Romance

. Joel and Kyzer are an incredible couple. I absolutely love them together. You wouldn’t think these two would work because Joel has always been about work and family and Kyzer hasn’t been able to find anyone to understand and accept him. I really love how when they finally start really talking, they build a strong foundation of friendship and then love. It’s a truly beautifully sweet romance. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audio book.

Get more Ink'd

This is a part of the Get Ink'd series. Kyzer is a demi sexual tattoo artist and Joel is a talent manager that we were introduced to earlier in the series (Milo's agent). I learned a lot about what it means to be a demisexual in this story. I really enjoyed the slow build between these two characters and how the rest of the crew meld in with them. Fairly low angst and a slow burn but worth every minute. Listen to the whole series..you'll love it!

Kyzer and Joel are awesome!

Charming addition to the series.  I wanted a little more from our narrator but he did a good job with Joel.

I really enjoyed getting to know Kyser and Chester as they open the new LA shop.  Thought it was a creative idea to make the new shop into a TV series!  I enjoy tattoos and loved the show that was on TV.

Our mc's Kyzer and Joel are awesome and their romance is such a romantic slow-burn.  I was glad to see a strong demisexual character like Ky be one of the leads in this story.  His need to get to know Joel was beautifully done.  The story was emotional and felt authentic. Their dating  just made my day.

This is the seventh book in the Get Ink'd series.and can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

Good until the end ..

I loved this series until this last book. Narrator was awful. He overplayed all of the characters and made the story a boring unsexy tale ...
I am so disappointed!!!!!

Sweet

Sweet with a little heat and angst. At first I didn’t like the narration until I realized his tone and pattern was actually great for one of the mc, overall the narration was good.

Amazing!

This book is the 7th one in the series and can be listened to as a standalone as well.

This was angsty, real, relatable and raw.

The characters were likeable and entertaining

I loved the we have a demisexual MC, abd moreover the representation was well handled.

This one has to be my favorite in the series.

David Piper performed an amazing audio delivery and narration

Joel and Kyzer

Angel Ink is Book 7 in the Get Ink'd series. This is a well written story about Joel and Kyzer. I enjoyed their journey as they navigate working together, family issues, and their sexualities. I love this series and this book, though set in LA, was a nice addition.
Narrator David Piper does a good job. He has a nice voice and I look forward to hearing more from him.

A Slow-Burn Romance for Kyser and Joel

Get Ink’d is now a franchise! The new shop is in Los Angeles, with previous bit characters Kyser and Chester being the first tattoo artists to locate there. This also creates a spin-off reality TV show focused on the new location. This development allows for the close proximity of demisexual Kyser and Joel, his manager. Will feelings develop between the two men?

Because of Kyser’s demisexuality the storyline calls for a slow-burn trope. In the meantime, there are several nice scenes of Joel and Kyser dating and getting to know one another (I’m a romantic--these are always my favorite parts of a book). There’s low-angst through much of the book, only ramping up for a short time near the end, before the HEA. I’m not quite sure, but this might be the last book of the ‘Get Ink’d’ series. I base this on the wonderful and heart-warming found-family feelings at the end.

This is my first time listening to David Piper. I have to admit it took a while to adapt to a different narrator after Connor Brown narrated most of the previous books. I did like Piper’s interpretation of Joel’s voice; there’s some emotion in that performance. With Kyser, however, the delivery seems a bit formal, almost clinical. Piper’s voice choices for a few secondary characters, particularly Chester, just seem off-the-mark. A quick look around Audible appears that Piper is fairly new to voice-acting (at least for audiobooks). I’m sure his performances will improve with experience.

This audiobook was provided to me for free and at my request. This post represents some of my honest and voluntary thoughts on ‘Angel Ink’.
