Publisher's Summary

When you kick evil to the curb, it kicks you back.

What peace Helo had hoped for by defeating King on the Tempest is short-lived. Evil doesn’t go quietly, and it’s always hungry for revenge.

After his parents are murdered, Helo rejoins the Ash Angel Organization ready to hunt creatures of evil and obliterate the six remaining Dread Loremasters. But terrifying portents from Tela Mirren’s dreams and dire warnings from Aclima hint that crossing darkness incurs a terrible price, and Helo will be the one who pays.

Trace goes Super Saiyan!

Brian K. Fuller crafts an excellent Book 2 to the series. Trace seems to attract more than a normal share of female admirers in a kind of platonic harem way. There are several twists, emotional relationship dilemmas and some intentional loose ends which begs for another book in the series. Even so, there is also some closure on at least one 1st tier characters.

R.C. Bray's performance continues to be quite good.

Outstanding!

I had this on pre order after absolutely loving the first one and this did not disappoint. I would listen to R.C. Bray read the menu at a chinese restaurant so needles to say he was amazing again. I just really love this story and the characters it is a fun story that creates something beautiful and quite fun to listen to.

Let's be careful to not create a Gary Stu

I love this story, but this better end in the third book. It's better that way then turning Helo from a very likable guy down on his luck to a guy that falls head first into being the perfect savior. I see the religious undertones. I caught it in the first book when they wouldn't curse or the constant redemption theme that plays over and over again and the creation of the hero through suffering. Nothing wrong with that, but Trace/Helo is not Jesus (or insert prophet of choice). It's just rewriting a story we already heard before. It's also like how an author makes his/her main character a perfect cut-out of what they wish they could be, but in this instance what their perfect religious savior would be. He gains everything he needs at just the right time because he meditated (prayed) just hard enough and was bestowed what's tantamount to a blessing, in order to...saaaaaave your soul. That's how I feel about it. Just an opinion.

Anyways, putting that aside, if the author wants Trace to be Thanos I'm all here for it. The action and the powers.

Just end the story early because the outcome of writing a character who has too much power creates a redundant story and an uninteresting main character. I need the character to struggle to get the power, not get the power just because they struggled and at this pace? Ridiculous, but where there is a limit there is a way......to an end. If you are up on the story then you know what I know and the power stops there and time should be ticking away. Hopefully to a very nice finale. Let's see if the author has enough restraint to end it at that. Unfortunately, the amount of plot threads left kind of says this won't won't end in the next book. We'll see.

Even better than Dread Uprising (somehow)

Dread Uprising was awesome. I loved it. There's even more weight and depth in Angel Born. With the world and characters largely established, Fuller is able to focus on telling a story with high stakes and people we love (and people we love to hate). He does a fantastic job.

R.C. Bray is an incredible narrator. He brings the story to life with exactly the right tone, intonation, and cadence for each scene.

Thrilling book, as interesting as the first

RC Bray was made for stories like this. I swear that he brings to life every character with perfection! There are some interesting twists and frankly the possibilities are limitless with the play on angels and daemons. There are only a few things that get a little tiresome throughout and that’s the unrelenting attraction that every female has to the main character, Helo. It’s not much a problem in general, but annoying when seemingly 25% of the book is about it. Overall, it’s a fun listen and has plenty of action to keep you engaged throughout.

Epic awesome!!!

Could not put this one down... this series is an interesting theory on religious history. Constantly on the edge of your seat, so many ups and downs. The narration and Producton are impeccable as always.

Like seeing an old friend again.

It has been a while since listening to book 1, and I sometimes find it hard to get back into a book series when there is a gap between books, preferring to binge listen a series when they are finished.

Ash Angels: Angel Born was not an issue. Instantly, Fullers writing and Bray’s narration take you straight back to where you left off.

I loved every minute, characters new and old are brought to life with fast paced action sequences and laugh out loud moments. The imagery that this book conjures up is outstanding and you will fee your heart pounding as the action picks up. You will grit your teeth with annoyance at characters who hinder Helo’s path.

Can’t wait for the third instalment, and maybe, just maybe someone will see the opportunity to make this into a series or movie, it is screaming out for a screenplay.

Great fun!

I'm Hooked.

I love this story.

The author and narrator have created a world that pulls you in and makes you forget reality. I found myself listening g constantly, finding excuses to disappear off to continue the story.

this is a great follow up book to Dread Uprising with a great climax and cliff hanger ending all in one.

I know book 3 is available in paper back and for the first time in years I can't wait for the audio. so book was purchased the moment this ended. I shall however look forward to Mr Brays interpretation when it's available.

don't pass this series by, you will miss out something so outstanding.

Superb

Fantastic book loved everything about it. RC Bray as always is perfect in my eyes when it comes to narration and I had bought the first book just because of him but it’s now a double whammy now I know the story is just as great. Hopefully there will be many more to come!

Mindless Pulp

While I enjoyed the escapism of the first book, Angel Born is just mindless blah blah and is probably really enjoyable if you can turn your brain off. Skip this if you need a book with substance.

RC Bray has become over exposed through narrating way too many books of this ilk, and I am starting to equate his narration with generic story telling, and that's a shame.

Amazing

When it arrived I was not knowing what to expect after the amazing first book. The Narration is just outstanding bringing all the characters to life and displaying their personalities. This gave an amplification of showing showing the individual struggles without the prolonged explanations well done

GREAT STORY

Loved the depth of the characters and the twisting plot, hopefully another story on the horizon as we follow Helo's last year on earth.
