Publisher's summary

From best-selling author comes this unique straightforward writing style in "interview" format that frequently anticipates a question from the listener and "answers". A pause-resisting story of a remarkable journey of strength, will and faith.

"No book comes closer to exposing the depths of a woman's soul. Forced to deal with extraordinary hardships, death, rejection, abuse, and a struggle to rise above obstacles that would break the spirit of most people." (Susanne L. Lambdin, author of Dead Hears Novel Series)

What an Amazing Life Story

Everyone always thinks their family is the craziest or strangest or whatever. As a reader I was blown away with some of the experiences this author has been through in her life. Her family when she was a child, teen, adult and adult caregiver. The relationships she found herself in and her thoughts now on why she made some of the choices she did.
Fascinating life story, the narration was wonderful as well. I liked the interview style too.
I love country music so the mention of Reba was exciting too. I saw her in concert once when I was in university!
Extremely satisfied with this book and have thought of Georgianne and her life many times since finishing the book.

Wow. Do not miss this one!

Candid, straight forward and pulling no punches this magnificently written and brilliantly narrated autobiography is a must listen. I Thought I’d Be a Nun is told in a unique interview style that really works! The narration is five star solid! Jeannie Sheneman differentiated her voice so convincingly that I really felt as if an interview was taking place. A very good, very comprehensive interview! I was completely mesmerized! I was at times horrified, at times amused, but always completely immersed, never bored and my attention never wavered, not even for a second. Also, and this is very telling, I did not increase the speed once! In fact, on several occasions, I had to stop, reduce the speed and replay sections because I could not fully absorb what I was hearing the first time around! At times, this audiobook provoked some very strong, very uncomfortable feelings. I’ll not give details, because I don’t want to give anything away. Georgianne Landy-Kordis my heart hurt, my tears flowed and I can’t thank you enough for sharing this story with the world. My hope is that a movie or mini-series is planned for the future so that even a wider audience can be reached. This one is pure gold! Not enough stars in the world!

I just wanted to hug her

The author has such strength! When many people would have given up and stopped trying to improve their lives, Georgianne Landy-Kordis just kept plugging along and never lost hope that she could make her life more meaningful. I admire her tenacity and determination. She deserves much kudos. I loved her book and would recommend it to others interested in memoirs or just a good book of survival from adverse conditions.

Better than expected

I thought this would be a religious book but it’s the author’s life story. I really liked it. I’m glad I listened to it. She went thru many hardships and still succeeded. I highly recommend this book.
