As I attend state and national gaming conferences, there's not too many tribal executives (at least at the time of writing this book) that have any real gaming operations experience. I am truly one of the lucky and skilled tribal executives who knows first-hand what it's like to have to go through tough economic times as well as the happy times when the champagne was uncorked every January because we just broke another revenue record.

I hope that tribal members who listen to this book will get a better sense of what it truly takes to help a casino run more smoothly, to help grow their revenue, and to lead with a business hat on rather than the political hat that we've become so used to in the tribal government sectors.

I wish you all well with your endeavors as you look to increase profit for your tribe. I hope that this book will serve as a book of guidelines that will propel you to the next level of your gaming knowledge.
