Publisher's summary

"No eligible bachelor wants to marry a bluestocking...especially not those frightful Chadwick girls." (Lady Jersey, Almacks Patroness)

Amelia's writing was often prone to getting her into trouble. Hence why she eventually took on a pen name. But it seems, once again, her unthinking need to spill out everything onto paper will land her in hot water.

After her sisters persuade her the only way to get over her love for Lord Nicholas Wentworth is to write about him, Amelia devotes hours and hours of ink to the subject. However, she never expects for Nicholas to end up in possession of this information. How could she admit her affection for him when she knows full well he is still in love with her now married sister?

To save herself embarrassment - and, more importantly, to keep her pen name hidden - Amelia must find a way to intercept these letters, and, if she cannot, she must persuade Nicholas it was all some awful jest and that she is certainly not A. Hardwick - purveyor of stories so scandalous that it would mean utter ruination for all the Chadwick girls should the truth come out.

Loved the book and the narration..

This was a really cute love story about Amelia who loved Nicholas, all the while convinced that he loved her married sister Lavinia. Amelia was also an author and Nicholas found a letter about Amelia’s characters and Nicholas realized that the writer, A. Hardwick, was Amelia and the letter was to him, written to him to make the characters in her book seem more realistic and then she would change the names in the books.

I could tell you what Nicholas’s house and garden and land looked like but I had no idea what Amelia or her sisters Julia, Emma and Catherine look like, except they all had red hair and, I think, green eyes. There was a little description of Nicholas but not enough. I don’t care about the paintings on his ceiling look like I want to know what the characters look like from head to toe. As cute as the story was there should have been more description of the players.

There was one fairly explicit sex scene in the gazebo, in the garden, during a ball, which I thought was a little tacky. Not a very romantic way to take the heroines virginity; tossing up her skirts while laying on a bench. But....

As to the narration: I know it was crazy again to spend $4.86 on less than 100 pages but I couldn’t stop myself because Stevie Zimmerman was narrating. She does such a fantastic job on the men’s and women’s voices and her emotions are awesome.

Soft porn ending

Enjoyed storyline for most of the book, but did not expect nor appreciate that their confession of love in last chapter turned into a porn romp between them. Totally unnecessary to spoil the fairly sweet story with details of lustful passion. Guess I'll skip Samantha Holt stories in future. Great book if you enjoy descriptive sexual encounters before the couple even announce an engagement. "Sigh" Returning audiobook. Stevie Zimmerman is a great narrator, for sure. I am a fan of hers, that's why I tried this book.

This book is so much fun

Amelia and her sisters do not conform to societies standards and don't want to. This has made finding husbands rather challenging and apart from Amelia they don't seem to care. I love these sisters, they're such a quirky bunch and make no apologies for being themselves and following their interests, reading about them is engaging and fun.

I spent most of the book grinning although there are some slightly more serious moments. Overall this is a fun sweet romance and a great way to spend a few hours.

The narration is well done with great character voices and the delivery was natural and well paced.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Charming Historical Romance

The Chadwick sisters are an unconventional bunch, a group of girls more interested in their various hobbies than men. Amelia Chadwick is the oldest of her five sisters, and finds her happiness writing salacious stories under a pen name. Amelia writes to move past her love for Lord Nicholas Wentworth, who happens to be in love with her married sister Lavinia. Amelia knows that Nicholas could never see her in a romantic way. After all, she's a red-haired bluestocking, the exact opposite of her elegant younger sister Lavinia.

Amelia writes Nicholas several letters declaring her love for him in an effort to move on.
When the packet of letters is accidentally mailed to Nicholas, she and her sisters have to find a way to intercept them.

This was a charming little historical romance, it was both funny and sweet. The plot moves along quickly with a lot of witty dialogue. Nicholas and Amelia shared some sweet moments and plenty of heat. I loved the sisters and their relationship, it's going to be interesting to see them each meet up with their perfect match. A novella with plenty of personality, it's perfect for an afternoon read!

Stevie Zimmerman's narration was excellent as always, she brought the story to life. She performed distinct voices for the characters and had the perfect voice for Nicholas. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Not worth a whole credit

This book was very short compared to the authors I normally listen to. It was not worth a full credit.

A Hidden Love Is Revealed!

Nickolas was once in love with Amelia's sister, yet that love is fading since she married a Scotsman.

Amelia has always loved Nickolas but never told him. She loved him even when her other sister who was to marry Nickolas instead married another man.

Amelia's three other sisters convinced her to write letters to Nickolas telling him how she felt, never intending to mail them. However someone did mail them.

I highly recommend that you get this excellent book and find out for yourself everything that has happened because of those letters being sent.

I laughed through some of it, was anxious throughout other parts, even brought to having tears in my eyes listening to the desperation in Amelia's voice. I just know you will enjoy this book as much as I have.

The narrator made the story come alive!

This was a great short romance. I listened to it in a night because I wanted to know what happened. I would definitely listen to books by this author/narrator again.

Bluestockings Revenge...

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Love stories with happy endings are always my favorite light read. If they are also historical novels with a heroine that is unconventional and ahead of her times, the experience becomes even more enjoyable. That is what I found in this first book of Samantha Holt's series, "Bluestocking Brides". The brooding Viscount is all that a stereotypical hero should be, but Amelia's verve is the right counterbalance to the expected.

Delightfully funny and charming!!

Amelia and Nicholas's story is really quick and easy to listen to. It has all the fun, humour, happiness and romance one can imagine with a group of highly intelligent, loving and supportive sisters who spend their days (and nights) in pursuit of their various interests. They are up for a lark and support each other's hairbrained schemes, even to the detriment of their own reputations. That said, Amelia is the adventurer of the group though her adventures, thus far, are confined to the pages of the books she writes, published under a pseudonym. Nicholas also has an adventurous spirit, though it is limited by the expectations of a viscount. It is only when kindred spirits are able to recognise each other that their adventure begins. How does that happen? By falling in rivers, out of trees and by generally getting in a muddle.

I really enjoy listening to Stevie Zimmerman. She has a casual clarity and steady lyrical quality to her voice that makes it a pleasure to listen to the books she is performing.

Short, sweet and fun.

Nicely narrated by Stevie Zimmerman. This short story was the perfect easy listen for a Saturday afternoon.
I would have preferred a longer, more developed cast and storyline but I still very much enjoyed this cute story of Amelia and her Viscount. The characters were very likeable especially Nicholas who seemed to be very understanding and easy going despite his reputation of being wild. The sisters were charming and I am looking forward to reading more and finding what other mayhem they can embroil themselves in.

***Love is blind***

You know the saying that you don't see what is infront of you till it's too late? well that is exactly what happened in this story, but thank God the Viscount realised it before it's really too late. I love Amelia and Nicholas story it's so romantic and sigh worthy. Stevie Zimemerman as the narrator is excellent is her portrayals of all the characters.
