Publisher's Summary

The sole survivor on a science vessel adrift in deep space, Zeus was adopted by the Emperor and Empress of the Mar'Sani, though he is both human and blind, and seen by most as unfit to join the royal family. Though they were able to repair his vision, Zeus does not trust his eyes and the nobles of his parents' court refuse to ever trust a frail human.

Dargon Kal-Turak, along with his symbiote and lover Alpha, command one of the most dangerous ships in the stars. Narrowly escaping a trap, they dock in a space port to make repairs, but find that the Psonics hunting them are closing in fast. In desperation they kidnap the port master mechanic, unaware that the man they've brought on board is more than he seems, and will bring far more upheaval to their ship, their lives, and the stars than any of them could have imagined.

Impossible to listen to

I loved the book Alpha Trine, so when I found it & the sequal on audio, I purchased them. I just got around to listening. I had to DNF the audio because the narrator's S's kept hurting my ears. There is equipment a narrator needs to produce quality output, devices that soften those S's.

Unfortunately, this book is unlisteneable. Which is sad. I truly enjoyed the book. But the audio version is useless to me.

Nice story, meh romance

nice story! I really enjoyed the concept and I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
My favorite part was definitely the prologue with Zeus' adoption!
My only problem with the story was the romance between Zeus and Dargon as it felt almost forced and way too rushed.
At times it was also difficult to keep up with the different aliens but the ones that were more thoroughly explained was very interesting - I just wish there would have been put more time into explaining some of the characters before moving on.

Just what I was looking for!

I listened at work, in the car, while walking the dog... could not put it down, and happy to find out there are more in the series. The only difficult part was the audio quality. It was often difficult to hear clearly, which is essential with a sci-fi book with all of its detailed descriptions and alien names. Any background noise overwhelmed the faint audio of this book. Maybe I can listen to it again but I'm excited to see what book two has to tell.

Good

I enjoy this enough to listen to it multiple times. I like the different creatures and can follow them fine. The biggest criticism of others is the multiple and varied characters. That is fine for me. My problem is that the narrator is a bit stilted. I'm not sure if it's his reading or the lack of contractions in the text itself. The thing is that it would be natural that aliens wouldn't follow our casual diction and rules. Regardless, it does detract from what is otherwise a highly entertaining and a little bit weird tale.

Decent book. There were a lot of names and characters to keep track of. The beginning was strong. I liked the mc's story and homeland. I couldn't picture alpha at all.

Refreshingly different

I am happy that I gave this story a chance. I love it all, especially the way it incorporated mythological characters. The adopted family and new found family are all great additions. I can't say more without spoilers haha. definitely a must read.

Interesting start of new series, may become epic

Zeus was Mar’Sani. It didn’t matter that he was a rescued blind human. Emperor Valdor and Empress Ashari raised him with their other children. He loved his parents and siblings, Mestor, Azaes and sister Shaneva. Zeus adores his adopted family, never doubting he belongs to them. And they felt the same way.

Dargon and his symbiote Alpha both know Zeus is their mate. As they start to navigate the hella complicated relationship, Zeus begins to realize just who and what he is.

This is a complicated book. Confusing at times even for a SciFi geek. Full of vivid alien species to rival those in the cineplex. Backstory was starting to fill in when this book ended so I’m glad I can dive into the second book right away. I will say it was head to table when I got the meaning of “Alpha Trine”

Unfinished

A well formed storey with intriguing characters. However it does not end with a sequel and leaves too many strong plot lines unresolved.

Amazing

I’ve read the book several times and decided to purchase the audio and it didn’t disappoint. The narrator was brilliant - he spoke clearly and smoothly but he didn’t change his voice for different characters.

Missed the mark

I know what this book was going for, but it just missed the mark for me. There’s plenty better versions of this story out there.

Great Sci-fi.

I loved this book on first reading, Michael Stellman does a grand job of bringing Zeus, Dagon and Alpha to life. It was great fun to revisit these guys. I'm looking forward to listening to Striker now.
