Publisher's Summary

Lioness shifter Scarlett Milan hates that she wants her boss more than her next breath. All she thinks about is how his black-rimmed glasses and bow tie are sexier on him than any other man. But since he’s human, she’s afraid she could break him, even kill him, during a night of wild sex.

Knox Daniels, wimpy bean counter, has lusted after Scarlett since the moment he met her. The fact she’s his best friend’s little sister has stopped all dirty thoughts. Well, almost. After he breaks up with his girlfriend, getting his hands on Scarlett is the first thing on his to-do list. Being murdered was not.

A vicious attack almost kills Knox, but science comes to the rescue. Now he’s no longer the weak human Scarlett was afraid to touch. Actually, no one knows what he is except possessive, aggressive, and demanding she be his. They’ll have to team up to keep him alive while figuring out if he’s a deranged killer or just the most powerful alpha ever known.

Note from author: Hang on to your panties, folks. This is going to be quick, dirty, and will have your listeners asking for a cigarette. As with all my books, adults only, please. That means if you're a prude and don't like hot sex or dirty talk, step away from the book. All others, I love you freaky people.

Short and Sexy

Milly Taiden’s books are always enjoyable. I can listen to most of them in one sitting. While I also love a long listen, Molly’s stories are fantastic when I want a quick hot fix.

Good start!

This was an interesting listen. It's a short story, but it comes with everything you expect in a Milly Taiden story. I liked the characters and the aspect of the multi-animal shifter. I'm looking forward to listening to more of this series. Well done to the author!

Alpha Geek Book One

Alpha Geek Book One.

Scarlett Milan works for Knox Daniels, but that doesn't stop her mind from inventing wild fantasies about the two of them. Not that she could ever fulfill those fantasies, considering she is a lion shifter and Knox is just a human. She would crush him like a bug. Knox has tried to keep his wandering thoughts to tame, mundane things around Scarlett, but even though she is his friend's sister he can't help wishing their situation could change. When Halloween rolls around, and Knox is almost killed, Scarlett begs her brother to save him. With his new shifter skills, Knox knows that Scarlett is his and no one will stop him from claiming her.

If you're looking for a story with a geek, a lioness and one truly amazing upgrade, this is the book for you!

This was different

Human male. Shifter female. This was a different in for me. Human turned shifter extraordinary. And not just any shifter. Alpha shifter with Amazon abilities. Scarlett and Knox were just the temporary distraction needed.

Again Lauren Sweet adds the sense of lyrical to the paranormal fantasy unfolding.

Funny

Every time I read this story it makes me laugh. I love the characters, especially the main ones. Those two are a mess. He turns into a superhero who likes super villians. That's rich.

Plot is ridiculously shallow; narration is painful

Usually I’ve been able to overlook Lauren Sweet’s overly nasal, weirdly cadenced narration because the story was smart and funny - not this time. Waste of time this go around. I like a steamy story but this is really just a collection of sex scenes with a somewhat story.

Wish this were part of a series!

This book was very short, but I loved it. The experimental science aspect of the book was so interesting. When I read the book description and it said that "no one knows what [Knox] is", I was intrigued, to say the least. I didn't expect what actually happened though, for him to become multiple kinds of shifters (especially those that aren't common in Milly Taiden's books) with the ability to read Scarlett's mind. It's bizarre and awesome. I really wish this book were part of a series. I would love to see what else results from Zeke's research.
