Publisher's summary

In the summer of 2019, a Photographer who has lost their way and a young woman who is losing her vision go on a meandering journey westward. Over the course of their travels, they both strive to connect and find happiness along the open road and the spectacular views of nature the trip affords them.

All the Best Roads Still Lead West is a story about dealing with the difficulties that can often be found in life and holding onto the idea of hoping for better days ahead. Along with the story, the novel contains over 80 photographs from my own personal journey west. The idea was to create a compelling narrative revolving around the idea of travel and mix it with my love for photography.

Poignant and Entirely Unexpected

While going into the audiobook I expected a fun trip adventure, something fun to listen to while on the road. What I experienced was something that I felt was very moving and emotional. While the story takes its time setting up, once the two main characters begin their journey I was completely hooked. I planned on splitting this up into two hour chunks but ended up finishing it in two days. The characters are extremely relatable and if someone told me that this was nonfiction I could easily believe it. The story does not fall into the trappings of ridiculous events even when it has its more lighthearted or humorous beats. The emotional impact of the story of two lost dreamers looking for their place in the world was something that caught me completely by surprise and left me in tears near the end. The narration did not seem to fit the story as the main character was not detailed as having an accent but as it went on I felt that it was beautiful. The narrator had such a warmth and harmony to her voice that I was entranced throughout the journey. As an overall package, this is easily one of the best books I have listened to this year and gets my first audible review ever.

Beautiful descriptions. Relatable characters...

I think this book is beautiful, through a journey through the American West and the developing characters. While I felt like it took a bit for the book to get started, I really enjoyed the characters' journey once it started. There are plenty of scenes of self-discovery, some romance, friendship, and beautiful descriptions of the mountains, lakes, and deserts characteristic of the West. I think I'll get the ebook version, to at least see the photographs!

Amazing Author

I had the joy of speaking with the author of this title, what a down to earth human. The story telling is absolutely one of the best I've came across. The narration is just as good as the writing! Very captivating as it draws you in!
