The Series Continues, So Far So Very Good!
I was given this free review copy audio-book at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This review is for the audio copy of All That Escapes, Lone Survivor, Book 3 by Jack Hunt and narrated by Miles Meili. The characters are holding true to their initial development. The story is still very entertaining, and I listened to it whenever I could. The narrator is great for this series and very easy to listen to. The book ended with a not unanticipated cliff hanger. Now I need to listen to book four!

Book 3 Most Suspenseful Yet
Book 3 of the 'Lone Survivor' series is the one that got me interested in this series. The description of post-EMP survivors navigating the Appalachian Trail piqued my interest. I grew up near the AT and have always been fascinated by it. Because of this interest in the trail, I requested and received a free review copy of the 'All That Escapes' audiobook. The following is my voluntary review. I would not call Book 3 a stand-alone novel in the series. It may be fairly difficult to follow the action without the prior knowledge of Books 1 & 2. Go ahead and spurge on those as well; they're worth it. Also, be aware that this book also has the strongest cliffhanger of the 3 books, so you'll definitely want to get Book 4. At first, I thought this book might be a little more low-key in suspense. I was so wrong. The dangers of the Appalachian Trail for Landon and Beth just won't let up. I was anxious the entire book and the climax is rip-roaringly great. Will they finally find their way to Castine? Once again, we get little peeks into how the government is handling 'the event'. We see individual reactions to the fact that FEMA and the military are poised to take over in Castine. I think it's probably pretty close to what would happen if we were all faced with an EMP situation. We also get to see some characters making decisions that have unintended consequences, especially among the Castine residents. The narration by Miles Meili is once again spectacular. His performance is dramatic and emothional. I got a little teary-eyed in places. Another great book by Jack Hunt. Action-filled, thrill-packed, and believable. Very highly recommended.

Such a masterpiece!!
I didn't realize I had completely skipped Book 2 until I was a good bit in because they were referencing people they had encountered and I had no idea who they were talking about. That aside Jack Hunt did such a wonderful job writing this and referencing back to previous things that happened that I had no trouble still following along. It didn't say exactly what happened I just know something happened and it made them stronger in the end. I love this story and how much the characters have grown since book 1. Miles Meili did a wonderful job with all the characters. I REALLY hope there is a book 4!! I will probably go back later on and buy book 2 just too fill in a few gaps I'm curious about. This is wonderfully written and done so in such a way that it is very very realistic. The people they meet, the challenges they take on, the growth each and every character shows in the story and that ending. Just amazing. Jack Hunt really knows how to weave an amazing tale of life on the trail, life in a crisis and how every person reacts differently to these crisis' and take advantage of the insanity but how some places thrive and grow even stronger! This was a wonderful read and I loved getting to keep up with every person in the story and I couldn't stop listening! I requested and was given this audiobook complimentary at my request and have voluntarily left this review with my honest opinion

Loved this book!
This is the third in the series. At the end of the last one. The two picked up the banjo playing murderer. I could hardly wait to listen to this one. To find out what would happen. It’s an adventure for sure. Landon and Beth continue their trek to get up north. This story is quite the adventure and I love listening to it. we find out how Sara and Max are doing. FEMA shows up and it ends up causing problems for the town folk. Max makes from new friends. Mercenaries that could come in handy for the town. This is a wonderful series and I highly recommend. I did listen to this on audio and Miles Meili does a great job.

Third of Series
Recommend you listen to All That Remains and All That Survives to get the full effect of the characters. In this book Landon and Beth as well as Grizzly continue their journey to his home town in Maine travelling the Appalachian Trail where they come into several horrific events. Liked the way Beth continues to torments him to prove her points. Enjoyed the other characters such as Dakota and Sally to name a couple, great action and good narration. Look forward to All That Rises. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you

Exiting!
Jack Hunt has done it again! Lone Survivor, is brilliantly written post-apocalyptic series, it's intense, thrilling, and riveting. The ending is insanely good, leaving you with wanting more. Personally, I can't wait for the fourth book. Hunt has done an exceptional job with the plot, it's well-written, entertaining, and exiting. The characters are well-developed, genuine, and engaging. They are continuously facing challenges, harsh and brutal situations, you can't help but put yourself in their shoes. The narration by Miles Meili is outstanding, immersing the listener further into the story. Overall, this was a fantastic listen, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and highly recommend it. Great start, disappointing end.
Good story line and lots of action which was great and enjoyable to read. The narrative spoils it has he did in book 1 as his voice doesn't sound authentic or meaningful in connecting with characters. He sounds more like someone reading an instructions manual or annual report. Ruins the read a bit so I would actually recommend reading this book rather than listening to it if possible. The other thing that let's the book down is when the writer makes the main character make a strange and unreal decision that a father and husband in his predicament would never make. This leads me to wonder if the writer is not yet a father or a husband. Throughout book 1 and this book I noticed how little thought this guy is giving to the welfare of his son and wife considering the dangers he has faced on his journey and therefore suspecting his own family or in such similar mortal danger Yet he gives them little though, and less realistic thought to his daughter which is not in line with normal human emotions. This peaked when the writer decides it would be normal for this father, husband, who should be worried his wife and son are in mortal danger and thinking the worst assuming they would be under attack as he walked. Yet he decides to delay getting home and go on a jolly with some girl he barely knows because he feels he owes her and because he knows how much it would mean to her. Really??? Like really?? I almost chucked the book off my kindle at this point. He would be beside himself with worry and thinking the worst with paranoid pessamissim all day every day knowing his family would be in as much danger as he was in out in the world, and would certainly not delay his journey by 2 whole weeks to go on a hike beofre he went home with some mates. sorry but thos really trashed the book for me and let me down. The writer needs to understand human emotions better and do some research into human emotions and human behaviour before he tries this again. The ending was probably supposed to shock me me it was so obvious it made me.laugh out loud instead, so another fail there for the writer who needs to be less obvious with hinting at forecoming plots throughout the story. Again a lack of backstory for the emotions a woman gies through before deciding something so huge and detrimental about her life, it was obvious here that the writer is a man and has no understanding of emotions at any real depth. I will read book 3 but only because I need to hear the ending.
