One of the most highly regarded Tier One Delta Force operators in American military history shares his war stories and personal battle with PTSD.

As a senior non-commissioned officer of Delta Force, the most elite and secretive special operations unit in the US military, Command Sergeant Major Tom Satterly fought some of this country's most fearsome enemies. Over the course of 20 years and thousands of missions, he's fought desperately for his life, rescued hostages, killed and captured terrorist leaders, and seen his friends maimed and killed around him.

All Secure is in part Tom's journey into a world so dark and dangerous that most Americans can't contemplate its existence. It recounts what it is like to be on the front lines with one of America's most highly trained warriors. As action-packed as any fiction thriller, All Secure is an insider's view of "The Unit".

Tom is a legend even among other Tier One special operators. Yet the enemy that cost him three marriages, and ruined his health physically and psychologically, existed in his brain. It nearly led him to kill himself in 2014; but for the lifeline thrown to him by an extraordinary woman it might have ended there. Instead, they took on Satterly's most important mission - saving the lives of his brothers and sisters in arms who are killing themselves at a rate of more than 20 a day.

Told through Satterly's firsthand experiences, it also weaves in the reasons - the bloodshed, the deaths, the intense moments of sheer terror, the survivor's guilt, depression, and substance abuse - for his career-long battle against the most insidious enemy of all: post-traumatic stress. With the help of his wife, he learned that by admitting his weaknesses and faults he sets an example for other combat veterans struggling to come home.

If you want to know what it's really like to be an elite warrior, this book is for you. However, be ready to be pounded with the realization that our nations heros sacrifice more than everything (yea I said more than everything) and when they are done protecting us, then and only then, do they really get to deal with their own issues. These warriors NEVER stop giving. We owe them a debt we can never repay but we should be doing everything we can to try.

Exceptional Book

I don't mean "his brother" referring to genetics. Tom Satterly and his wife, try to take care of their brothers. Whether Tom has fought beside them or "they" are veterans suffering with PTS. They are doing their part to see our veterans redeemed. His story vividly portrays, the heartache and sorrowful scenes that our veterans have had to deal with on the battlefield. Well worth reading!

Here's a man that still is caring for his brother!

For my personal experience the narration was the only issue I had with the book. In my opinion the structure or style of narration was choppy and almost forced. But the content and issues addressed more than outweighed the slight problems I had with the narration. Tom does an amazing job of painting the picture that we as service members face everyday, all day. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to experience this book. It has provided me with insight into some of the things that I feel and think. He then follows up with the solutions he found that worked for himself or others facing those issues. I found some comfort to know that these issues can affect any fighter, at any time, for any reason.

Great insight into PTS.

I’m a 62-year-old grandmother who enjoyed every word of this especially because it was read by Tom S. Because he performed it, each word was given credibility. I am so glad that he was able to find a woman in this world that helped him out of this horrible thing that was affecting his life. Godspeed to him and his wife to help more people coming out of the military. God bless him. I hope we have 10 million more men in our future as a country that are willing to fight for us the way he did.

What a fantastic story!

Simply put, Tom's experience & his continued efforts to help special operations veterans (& all veterans) battle PTS us truly inspirational & his dedication to the mission is beyond commendable. The work he does to this day & I'm sure he will continue to do for the remainder of his life with his organization "The All Secure Foundation" Charity & Organization has impacted MANY lives. I was not a special forces veteran, I was an infantry grunt & R.O in the Marines but THIS book by far helped me sort out my post combat issues A LOT! Tom & his wife Jen Slattery have definitely helped me with thier organization(All Secure Foundation) & all the speaking events they do and the writing of this book immensely!
This book is invaluable for ANYONE suffering from combat PTS! The way he goes through his experiences as a top tier Warrior & how that life bled into and effected his personal life & most importantly his relationships was clearly detailed in this great read! I can't recommend it enough to ALL Veterans and to the Veterans Affairs Hospital Therapists, Psychiatrists, and Psychologists who treat us at the Veterans Hospitals! It should be required reading for both veterans and those who treat us!
Very few books have directly impacted my life...and THIS is one of them!

PS: Jen Slattery also co-wrote a book from the perspective of the people that combat veterans hurt the most (besides themselves)... thier Spouses and I highly recommend that book: "Arsenal Of Hope" as a companion to this one!

One of the best books on PTS"D"
