John Bunyan
All Loves Excelling is John Bunyan's sermon on Ephesians 3:18-19: "That ye...may be able to comprehend with all saints, what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge." It was first titled The Saints' Knowledge of Christ's Love, is worthy of being ranked alongside Sibbes, and deals with a much neglected subject area.

Bunyan presents a biblical view of God’s love beginning with Ephesians 3:16-19. He defines and explores the width, the length, the depth, and the height of the love of God and then shares many practical insights and encouraging words regarding that love. I especially enjoy his manner of illustrating various concepts by quoting many scriptures that support each of those concepts along with the references to those scriptures. That is a very effective technique.
A comprehensive Biblical view of the love of God

This is not a long, convoluted sermon, but it is instructive for the saints. Think college level education, but, back when John Bunyan preached, it was to the general, and largely illiterate peasantry in and around Bedford. He preached on the presumption that all were interested, and, intelligent enough to understand, because it is the Holy Spirit which gives understanding. The preacher is there to just remind you what you already know.
The narrator did a good job. I was not distracted by the tone, quality, or pace. That, for me, can make all the difference. Mr. Soeur knew what he was doing and had familiarity with the text. Very enjoyable.
I will be listening to this again. The subject is worth repeating, but, also, it was well presented.
Excellent Sermon! Well read
