Publisher's Summary

You tried to save a life. Now you're fighting to save your own.

It should have been an idyllic day for the Turner family - until a dying man, beaten beyond all recognition, arrives at their home, uttering the words 'help me'.

Rob and Wendy Turner and their children try to explain away the horrific scene as being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but in the days that follow, their lives are threatened in ways they could never imagine.

The family is unaware that they are being watched by someone with their own terrifying agenda, who will stop at nothing to fulfil their own twisted desires. But when hidden secrets come rushing to the surface, it's clear not everything is as it seems in this happy family. Are the Turners victims of circumstance - or does the key to their fate lie closer to home?

Forced to fight for everything they hold dear, can they save themselves before time runs out - or will their act of compassion see them paying the ultimate price?

A heart-stopping, shocking and tense thriller that will keep you guessing until the very last minute.

Stellar psychological thriller!!#

This book was Stellar, It's fast paced, with a healthy dose of suspense, Action and Adventure..

I always enjoy when the victim is someone you love to hate. pick the villain and it fits. I enjoy this type of psychological thriller because everyone's a suspect and you don't just guess the answer right away.

I look forward to more by this author ..

I wanted better...

I will not be recommending this book to anyone. I was actually giving out 4 stars for a while and wondering if I was just crazy in love with the genre. Upon getting to another book before this and now this one, nope, those were just very well written. I expected more from Bale. Plots are layered upon each other only to be quickly done away with. The pacing is a rollercoaster ride, with the end taking no turns, but merely chugging along at a snail's pace. The final 30 minutes seemed contrived for added action, and the hour leading up to that was painful. A decent story if you are between intense thrillers, but don't want to switch genres. I haven't given up on the author though. I'll try one more, but I wasn't largely impressed. This wasn't terrible, but there are better.

start so well

Nice slow start, except for the dying man. I enjoyed the building of the plot but lost interest during a protract ed sequence of violence. I finally skepped all that... the book ended up being pretty good.

Phew - What a twisty turny thing!

I must admit I have been conflicted by this book. On one hand I hate gratuitous violence and in particular when it is of a sexual nature. On the other hand what could I possibly have expected when I read the synopsis of the story before buying? Thankfully the author keeps proceedings tightly controlled and relatively easy to stomach and this is a testament to his skill as a thriller writer. The plot chugs along at a cracking pace and the great strength for me was the fact I really liked the family in peril. They are certainly not angelic by any stretch of the imagination, but this makes the whole thing a very big cut above average.
I was kept intrigued to the end and left feeling like I wanted to hear more from this author and the narrator, who did a first class job.

fantastic, kept me on the edge of my seat

loved the book, it kept me on the edge of my seat most of the way through, not for the faint hearted. can be a little graphically in places, but not over the top. would recommend 100%, good thriller.

Brighton is the place to be.

I found this novel somewhat overlong. Tom Bales novels are invariable good, but I am afraid this was a let down.

A Let Down

I persevered to the end with this because it has so many positive reviews, and kept hoping it would get better, but I just couldn't buy into the story, which seemed implausible, or like any of the characters. Perhaps this was partly down to the narrator - the women's voices, in particular, just sounded drippy. Overall the storyline was too rushed to be believable - the 'brood' plot line, especially, was just too bizarre. I was glad when it was over.

A bit uncomfortable at times and a weak ending

The narrator was good only when delivering the story, but his character voices were laughable and spoilt the book. The story gets a little uncomfortable in the middle unnecessarily as there are threats of rape which add nothing to the story. The ending is a bit Hollywood to tie up loose ends.

Couldn't stand the narrator

Listened to a couple of hours of this and enjoyed the story so far, but absolutely couldn't stand the narrator. He made the female voices sound like a parody of a transvestite and the intonation of all of his characters seemed all wrong. Returned the audiobook but I will get it in paperback to finish.

It was ok, but not stunning

Where does All Fall Down rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It was a bit convoluted an unbelievable. Usual stupid people doing stupid things they grow to regret later on in the story.

Exciting

Enjoyed it and was surprised at the constant turn of events.
I did wonder how Georgia got away so quickly when her feet were tied together!
