Publisher's Summary

Alessandra Kennedy wakes up to a veritable hell, locked in a cage and held captive by aliens. But her greatest fear is of what lies beyond those cell doors. What horrors will the new life beyond her prison have to offer?

She imagined every worst-case scenario and all the horrible things that might await her, but never once did she imagine she would become an alien's bride. The strange new culture that takes her in certainly does things differently than humans. Will she be able to get through the time she shares with her alien husband (without arguing) for long enough to make it home? Or will she lose her heart somewhere along the way?

Kye Amara, the rich and cocky diplomat, has always had everything at his disposal: money, women, success. But when a neighboring government tries to impress him with a gift of five beautiful slaves, he finds himself drawn to one of them. Quickly, this human tears down everything Kye thought he knew about himself, challenging him in a way he has never experienced before.

Has Kye Amara finally met his match? And will he be able to prove he is man enough for his alien bride?

Contains mature themes.

Annoying heroine

It's really hard to like the story when you despise the main character(s). I found the heroine to be extremely annoying. Her stubbornness was just stupid and unnecessary. As for the story itself, it is slow with very little substance to hang on to. Not worth the credit or the anticipating for the release.

Hard to believe, so much attitude

This young lady was captured, held prisoner in a glass cage nude and then rescue. And the whole time she was friends with everyone but the one who saved her. It was that way through the whole book. I found myself skipping her dialogue ( that always rambled ) just to get past her unrealistic way she looked at only her husband. It was an exhausting read. But the narrators were great. This book get better one hour before it ended. So if you buy, try to wait until the end.

what a witch

the story was fine, however, the lead female character was just a hag. all she cared about was herself and no matter what the guy tried to do she treated him like the villain. no consideration for cultural differences and no empathy. she was just a jerk. made it hard to enjoy the story because he really deserved someone nicer at least.

Could not Finish

I love the narrator of this book, however even with the amazing job I couldn't handle the grating main characters. They guy isn't as horrible as the main female. Quick to strike out, selfish, no ability to think of her surroundings, other worlds customs, and most of the time afraid. Always droning on about her on issues regardless of others around her. I absolutely couldn't finish this book mainly because of her. I thought it would be good because in the beginning it gives a more realistic view on a person's response to being abducted and sold into slavery and that's where my appreciation for this book ends. Listening to this story at parts where it was about the main female character was like nails on a chalk board. think really hard before you waste you money or credit on this book.

JUST TOO MUCH

I tried. Really I did. After reading several reviews, I skipped this one and listened to books 3 and 4. They were all so good, so I went back and reread reviews. One review didn’t agree with all the others that said the heroine was all around disagreeable, so I gave it a shot.🙄😔 I got as far as chapter 16 and had to stop. At some point, in my romance stories, I need to see a hint of romance between the H and h...some kind of budding love story. She was just mean and nasty with no sign of letting up. I’m returning this one. The narrator was absolutely fabulous.

Why so dunce?

Why does the main character have to be so annoying and blind. She is so much of a blockhead and full of herself she can't see.

I LOVE the heroine!!

All the people that said shes "bitchy" are idiots! She was kidnapped as a sex slave, "given" as a fucking gift to some arrogant asshole! Throughout the entire story he was actively trying to sweep what happened to her and hundreds of others under the rug. Even with that she was very fair to him. If you love weak, stupid heroines who make shitty choices then this is NOT the book for you. I did love their romance and I loved it because she was so strong! Excellent! I almost didn't buy this because of the bad reviews on how awful the heroine was. Sooooo glad I did!! to be clear I fell in love with the hero too! he didn't remain a dbag! Toward the end she did become irrationally unfair to him. That one situation made me get why so many thought she was irrational. Of course the performance was absolutely amazing!!

A Great Book

I enjoyed the narrators but the storyline got really annoying in some areas. However, the overall story was interesting enough to see through the rough edges. Worth listening to and overall a good book.

Good story despite the hero

The hero was immovable for me. Yet still the story was engaging enough that I was eager to hear what happened next. Despite Kai's insensitivity, selfishness and dishonesty the author managed to craft the tale so I did still care what happened to him and want Alessandra to have her happily ever after. On to the next tale in this series!
