New life to a perfect classic

Scarlett Johansson breathes new life to a story that has been told so many times. Various remakes and interpretations have been made of Lewis Carroll's old classic, but few as brilliant as this. I was seeing it all as Johansson guided me through the story and painted the prettiest of pictures in my head.

If you have been read this wonderful story as a child or if you have never heard it before, this is a good place to start or revisit the story.

Loved Scarlet Johansson!

When I first purchased it, I was a little unsure about her performance, but it is truly great. I do believe she would do great reading something a little more adult oriented. Her voice draws you into the book, but the character voices are a little off.

A wonderful read! Listen with or without you children!

For some reason I reviewed this book very badly 6 years ago…I must have been mad as this is a wonderful book to listen to.
SJ brings the characters to life and I could imagine Alice’s world unfolded with her.

fun narration

I thought Scarlett Johanson did an amazing job telling this story and you can tell she had a lot of fun woth it. I was impressed with how many voices she created.

One of my favorite stories. Scarlet does a fantastic job narrating this whimsical story. Definitely recommend this.

don't like the writing

Until now I've never read/heard the original story of Alice in wonderland, I had seen the movies and even though pretty much all of the elements are in place, I just couldn't find myself in the writing style. What kept me listening was the narration. I like Scarlett well enough as an actress, but didn't think she had it in her to do the various voices, but I was sure wrong about that one. Her narration and characterization is top notch. It's easy to know when a different character is talking and het different accents are excellent!

Wow it really is Scarlett Johansson!

I've heard two different versions of this book and this one has to be my favorite. Scarlett Johansson proves that she doesn't need to be on screen for you to be able to see the action. from the way she reads to the way she talks I could see all the characters reactions and the way they moved even the way they wood look around just from how she read. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Not your Disney Alice

A really great and well read classic. CS Lewis wrote for all ages. Scarlet does a wonderful job. Brilliant

Wonderful narration :)

Perfect narration by Scarlett Johanson.
The story is a surreal journey into a dreamy chaos, and there is very little substance to it. Still the characters are wonderful, and the plays on words are very amusing.

I love this story & I love that Scarlett Johansson narrates this book!!! It’s super great. I honestly re-listen to it a lot. Especially before bed.
