Publisher's Summary

She owns the team. He owns her heart. Can a first love turn into a second chance?

Watch out, Sean! Your manwhore days are numbered.

Sean McBride is the bad boy/manwhore of the Seattle Knights football team. And he is happy to embrace the title. He's young. Rich. Handsome. And he's one of the best wide receivers in the game. Why shouldn't he take advantage of all the perks? Women throw themselves at him. Wouldn't it be rude not to catch them?

Riley Preston loves the game of football. The Knights are the most important thing in her life. Besides Sean. Riley has loved Sean since she was 17, but he's always seen her as nothing more than a little sister. Finally, Riley is all grown up and she won't settle for a little fun. She wants everything. Especially Sean's heart.

Outside forces are trying to derail them and the team. Time to grow up. Because, together, nothing can stop them.

sports romance

Riley Preston learned the love of football from her grandfather. she learned how to run the team and how the game was played. She was 12 when he passed away. He always told her the team would be hers one day. She had to wait until the age of 30 for full ownership. Until then the team was managed by her father and shareholders. Riley always had a crush on one of the players, Sean Mcbride. He was a player in more ways than one. She kisses him, he rejects her. She leaves and goes away to college and doesn't come back until she turns 25. That's when he starts to notice her. This is a second chance romance, with mystery and lies. I really enjoyed listening to this story narrated by Lacy Laurel. 🎧audiobookobsessionreviewer🎧

Enjoyable listen

Good story, it flowed well and was the perfect length. I could have dinne without the pointless manufactured drama stunt in the last 40 minutes... replaced by something that just made a little more sense as a challenge for the lead characters. Great narration, my first with this narrator. #audiobookobsessionreviewer

Great Story & Narration🎧Captivating Sports Romance

I enjoyed this great sports romance, Mary J. Williams is a gifted author, her storylines are original, they grabbed my attention right from the start and held it straight to the end. The characters are complex and well developed. Riley Preston has loved football her whole life, her Grandfather owned and ran the Seattle Knights football team. She was his sidekick for years and learned a lot about the game and running the team. Sadly she lost her grandfather when she was young but she never lost the love of the game. The team is being run by her father and other share members, she is not happy with the way he is running things but there is only so much she could do right now, she will have more of a say when more shares come her way in the future. Riley was crushing on one of the players, Sean McBride, a man whore and a player on and off the field. Riley propositions him but he turns her down, she is too young and naive for him. The rejection upsets and she rethinks her life and she decides to up and leave and go to Harvard. She comes back years later better than ever and with a plan, one that will make her Grandfather proud. She also catches Sean McBride’s eye and he is not letting her go this time. I loved how everything plays out in this book, it is well plotted and I especially love how cunning Riley was, how she deal with her dirtbag father and mother. A lot goes on in this book, there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns and some hot romance. Mary J. Williams, thank you for another great novel. Lacy Laurel is a fantastic narrator and voice artist. She does a great job portraying the characters and bringing them to life, giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart she puts into her work as she projects the characters emotions into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Good sports romance

Riley has loved Sean forever but for years, he saw her as a little sister. Then, one day, he realized that he wanted her. Can he get over his bad reputation so that she wants to be with him? Or will she just see him as a good time? Throw in a bit of family drama and it was a pretty good well rounded story. Both Riley and Sean were sweet characters. Lacey Laurel’s voice for Sean is breathy and a little halting which is a bit distracting. She did a great job with Riley though sometimes it was difficult to know who was speaking during a conversation. 🎧AudiobookObsession, AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Touchdown

This lil read was a surprisingly cute Love story! The plot twist with the jerk of a father was a nice touch! Narration was good, but I would of preferred a more manly voice for Sean!

Cute kind of romance

Riley and Sean are so cute together! I love them both. Riley works so hard to get noticed and not just the little sister type. Sean, meanwhile, checks her out only to realize many things about her. This is a great audio!

Sean & Riley

Second chances. We don't always get them, but when Riley takes over the management of Seattle Knights, she has her old crush Sean as one of the players. This man is the one we all love, good looking, rich, and woman. Does he notice that Riley is there? Yes!!! But can she trust that he is in it for the long haul? There are a few twists and turns in this book that I loved. It has such wonderful characters and the romance is delicious! A little slow burn, a lot of building heat and a plan that could through a wrench not only in their love life, but the life of the team! This is my first listen of Mary J Williams and I love her style! Definitely will be watching for more of this team's future! Lacy Laurel is amazing with sports narrations. She just gets it. The teammates, the competitive value, the chaos that is caused and she pulls it all in giving each character the perfect voice and personality. She nails each one, from Sean and Riley to the wives and players, especially the quarterback! An enjoyable book and wonderful narration.

This was a sweet second chance love story with an interesting storyline and likable characters. Riley goes from a young and innocent teenager to a confident woman who knows how to get what she wants. Sean is a sexy football player who isn't going to know what hit him. It's an enjoyable story, and I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of the series. Feel good sports book

There’s not too much sports references in this book that you need to understand to keep up luckily as I know nothing! It’s a lovely storyline of young love put on hold for the age gap to be more acceptable. Great characters with a brilliant heartfelt performance from Lacy. #audiobookobsessionreviewer
